DIREITO À EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL NAS ESCOLAS COMO INSTRUMENTO DE REDUÇÃO DOS DESASTRES ECOLÓGICOS EM REGIÕES VULNERÁVEIS.

Abstract

The planet\u27s transformation dynamic’s, through natural processes, associated with human action, intensified since the first industrial revolution and based on an exacerbated consumerism of natural resources, has caused substantial negative changes in ecosystems. Seeking to guarantee the preservation of the environment, the Constituent of 1988 provided, in its art. 225, VI, §1º, for the promotion of environmental education, at all levels of education, as a mechanism to ensure the right to an ecologically balanced environment, a corollary of the third dimension of fundamental rights. In this context, the present study seeks to analyze the theoretical and practical aspects of the fundamental right to environmental education in Brazil and how its implementation in schools can contribute to the reduction of ecological disasters, especially with regard to vulnerable regions.  The results show that environmental education in schools is essential for the conservation and preservation of the environment, contributing to the democratization of knowledge about the ecological problems arising from climate change and empowering the civil population to mitigate the negative impacts of harmful human activity responsible for environmental degradation.A dinâmica de transformação do planeta, através de processos naturais, associada à atuação antrópica, intensificada desde a primeira revolução industrial e pautada em um consumismo exacerbado dos recursos naturais, vem causando substanciais alterações negativas nos ecossistemas. Buscando garantir a preservação do meio ambiente, o constituinte de 1988 previu, em seu art. 225, VI, §1º, a promoção da educação ambiental, em todos os níveis de ensino, como mecanismo para assegurar o direito ao meio ambiente ecologicamente equilibrado, corolário da terceira dimensão dos direitos fundamentais. Neste contexto, o presente estudo busca analisar os aspectos teóricos e práticos da fundamentalidade do direito à educação ambiental no Brasil e a forma com a qual sua efetivação nas escolas pode contribuir para a redução de desastres ecológicos, notadamente no que tange às regiões vulneráveis. Os resultados demonstraram que a educação ambiental no espaço escolar se mostra imprescindível para a conservação e preservação do meio ambiente, contribuindo para a democratização do conhecimento acerca das problemáticas ecológicas oriundas das mudanças climáticas e capacitando a população civil a dirimir os impactos negativos da nociva atividade humana responsável pela degradação ambiental
