Las "Ianuae Linguarum" (siglo XVII): un estudio comparativo. Con una edición crítica de la "Ianua Linguarum" jesuita de 1611

Programa de Doctorado Interuniversitario en Lenguas y CulturasLa presente tesis doctoral se enfoca en el estudio gramaticográfico de los manuales conocidos como Ianuae Linguarum, publicados en Europa durante el siglo XVII para la enseñanza del latín. Estos manuales eran versiones o reelaboraciones de una obra original llamada Ianua linguarum siue modus maxime accommodatus quo patefit aditus ad omnes linguas intelligendas, escrita por William Bathe, un jesuita irlandés, junto con algunos colaboradores, y publicada en Salamanca en 1611. Para llevar a cabo este estudio, se recopilaron numerosas ediciones de cada uno de los manuales, con el objetivo de realizar un análisis comparativo que destacara sus similitudes y diferencias en términos de objetivos, estructura, contenido y tratamiento gramatical. Se han considerado aspectos como el momento y lugar de publicación, además de recopilar información sobre las fuentes utilizadas y la influencia que ejercieron en obras posteriores. Como contribución original, se incluye una edición crítica de la primera Ianua linguarum, que incorpora las variaciones presentes en las demás ediciones del siglo XVII, corrigiendo el texto de 1611 cuando fue necesario. Esta edición busca reunir la extensa tradición de la Ianua linguarum en Europa durante ese siglo, así como resaltar sus transformaciones más destacadas.This doctoral thesis focuses on the grammaticographical study of the manuals known as Ianuae Linguarum, published in Europe during the 17th century for the teaching of Latin. These manuals were versions or reworkings of an original work called Ianua linguarum siue modus maxime accommodatus quo patefit aditus ad omnes linguas intelligendas, written by William Bathe, an Irish Jesuit, along with collaborators, and published in Salamanca in 1611. To carry out this study, numerous editions of each manual were compiled, with the aim of conducting a comparative analysis that would highlight their similarities and differences in terms of objectives, structure, content, and grammatical treatment. Aspects such as the time and place of publication have been considered, along with gathering information about the sources used and the influence they exerted on later works. As an original contribution, a critical edition of the first Ianua linguarum has been included, incorporating the variations present in other 17th-century editions, and correcting the 1611 text when necessary. This edition seeks to bring together the extensive tradition of the Ianua linguarum in Europe during that century, as well as highlight its notable transformations
