[Transcription begins] Solomons, M. I. April 4, 1943 Dear Friends, It is with a feeling of pride that I acknowledge your remembrance of a gift of smokes received today. It was certainly a lift to show them and pass them around to my shipmates. They read the little card enclosed and thought it was pretty swell. Please accept my sincere thanks.
