Elementos para un argumento didáctico desde el estudio histórico del Teorema Fundamental del Cálculo en Newton

Abstract

This paper, which follows the historiographic approach and is framed within the author's doctoral thesis research, it evidences an argument employed by Isaac Newton in his studies that culminated in a version of what is currently recognized as the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (FTC). From this perspective, the CFT will be analyzed in four different periods, 1665, 1666, 1669, and 1704 of Newton's work. The characteristics of this argument can be converted into a structure for alternative presentation in the TFC teaching to university students since heuristics plays an important role in problem-solving. Then, the pretension that it becomes another resource for the teaching of TFC would be based on retaking it as the relation between the problem of the areas and the inverse problem of the tangents, beyond the usual one, i.e., the inverse relationship between the derivative and the integral.  Este escrito, que sigue el enfoque historiográfico y se enmarca dentro de la investigación de la tesis doctoral del autor, evidencia un argumento empleado por Isaac Newton en sus estudios que culminarán en una versión de lo que se reconoce actualmente como el Teorema Fundamental del Cálculo (TFC). Desde esta perspectiva se analizará el TFC en cuatro períodos distintos, 1665, 1666, 1669 y 1704 de la obra de Newton. Las características de este argumento se pueden convertir en una estructura para la presentación alternativa en la enseñanza del TFC a estudiantes universitarios, toda vez que la heurística juega un papel importante en la resolución de problemas. Luego, la pretensión que se convierta en otro recurso para la enseñanza del TFC se basaría en retomarlo como la relación entre el problema de las áreas y el problema inverso de las tangentes, más allá de la usual, i.e. la relación inversa entre la derivada y la integra
