Abstract

The Syndromic Surveillance System Data report was obtained from Michigan\u27s COVID-19 dashboard, from under the link Coronavirus Symptoms : https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus. Data was compiled by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The information was updated daily. Syndromic Surveillance System data is obtained from approximately 183 facilities participating in syndromic surveillance (132 Emergency Departments (ED), 51 Urgent Cares) across the State of Michigan. The reporting is based on individuals who present at EDs and may not be representative of the overall population. The coronavirus-like symptoms query searches visit free-text (chief complaint, triage notes, and clinical impression) for fever or chills AND cough or shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. The report contains six tables, Proportion of Visits with Coronavirus Symptoms by Public Health Preparedness Region, Proportion of Visits with Coronavirus Symptoms by Age Group, Proportion of Visits (overall with Coronavirus Symptoms), Proportion of Visits with CLI or a COVID-19 Diagnosis by Public Health Preparedness Region, Proportion of Visits with CLI or a COVID-19 Diagnosis by Age Group, and Proportion of Visits (overall with CLI or a COVID-19 Diagnosis). It also contains 11 graphs, presenting the proportion of visits with coronavirus-like symptoms or diagnosis overall in the state, by age group, and by preparedness region
