Liquid gas maintenance in cryogenic conditions during transport od land and sea

Abstract

The topic of this work is liquid gases, more specifically their extraction and transport. The author has provided their clasifiction, structure as well as the building materials used in the process. The storage of said gas will be explained in detail as well as regulating the low temperature needed for transport. Gas as an energy source has been gaining wide recognition and acknowledgement throught the world as a substitute to the traditional fosil fuels. The reason for this recognition is the ecological aspect of the gas as a substitute for fuel. As the transport of gas became more bigger and frequent, the ship industry also evolved and developed ships that use natural gas as their fuel. Alongside ships, a big role in the transport of natural gas have the terminals where the gas is being embarked and disembarked and for this reason this work also adresses the regulations and protocols on the mainland. This work will thoroughly examine the history and the evolution of the ships that are being used for transport of natural gas. This will also encompass the first land unit and the first ships used, all the way to today's modern systems
