The research includes a general description of the private prison system. There are reviewed main points on private prisons and the necessity of this system. The research includes detailed characterizing of models and experience of various countries. There is also presented comparative legal analysis in this field. The research includes analyzing of advantages and disadvantages of the private prison system. There is also given, author’s recommendations on implementing the system in Georgia and recommendations for improving criminal law policy
