Abstract

This book deals with an issue that has global importance not only in a wide range of contemporary social sciences, but also in the daily lives of billions of people: increasingly large data sets. This plethora of data presents, at every level of processing, a serious challenge for those who need to make sense of it. For them, the skill of using this data in an appropriate, well-considered way has become essential, and demands specialist knowledge. However, there is a lack of books that can provide guidance in this new area of knowledge. The book under review fills this gap. (Dr hab.
