Una nueva aproximación a la escritura musical: el concepto de notación interpretativa

Abstract

En este texto presento una nueva mirada de la notación musical que denomino notación interpretativa, y que se suma a las ya conocidas notaciones musicales descriptiva y prescriptiva. Primero presento e ilustro las notaciones descriptivas y prescriptivas. Luego presento las notaciones interpretativas utilizando como ilustración una obra tradicional. A continuación ilustro su aplicación en tres ejemplos de la música contemporánea. Elijo obras que introducen nuevos signos gráficos de notación musical para que la notación interpretativa pueda ser fácilmente identificable. En las partituras tradicionales el lenguaje musical es tan conocido y compartido por los compositores e intérpretes que casi no identificamos las notaciones interpretativas. Sin embargo, en obras que proponen otros modos de construcción del pensamiento compositivo, menos conocidos, este tipo de notación revela toda su importancia, ya que puede ser la principal responsable de la comprensión del discursoIn this text I introduce a new perspective on musical notation that I call interpretative notation, which can be added to the well-known descriptive and prescriptive musical notations. First I introduce and illustrate descriptive and prescriptive notations. Afterwards, I introduce interpretative notations illustrating them by means of a traditional work. Finally, I illustrate the use of interpretative notations in three examples chosen from contemporary music. I choose works that introduce new graphic signs for music notation in order to make them easily identifiable. Scores from traditional repertoire employ a musical language that is so well known by composers and performers that interpretative notations become almost unidentifiable. In works that propose different and less known ways of constructing compositional ideas, however, this type of interpretative notation reveals how relevant it can be, insofar as it may be the main means of understanding the musical discourse
