This thesis focuses on the phenomenon of repetition in the plays of the Norwegian author Jon Fosse. The concept of repetition is approached in a broader context. The analysis reveals that repetition in these texts is not merely a decorative aesthetic figure, but a deep structure which manifests itself in all components of the work. It can be observed on several levels, ranging from graphemic and phonemic to the compositional level, even transcending the boundaries of the individual works.
