Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten tutkimushenkilön kommunikointi ja sen apuvälineet ovat kehittyneet yhdeksän vuoden perusopetuksen aikana. Työ vastaa kysymyksiin siitä, millaisia vaiheita kehityksessä on ollut ja kuinka on toimittu, jotta tavoitteet ovat saavutettu. Teoriaosa kuvaa CP-vammaa kouluikäisellä ja kommunikoinnin apuvälineiden monipuolisuutta koulumaailmassa. Kommunikoinnin apuvälineistä keskitytään käsittelemään tutkimushenkilön käyttämiä apuvälineitä. Opinnäytetyö on tapaustutkimus, jonka aineisto on kerätty tutkimushenkilön puheterapialausunnoista, HOJKS-lausuntojen (Henkilökohtainen opetuksen järjestämistä koskeva suunnitelma) kommunikoinnin osa-alueista ja kahdesta harjoittelupäiväkirjasta. Tutkimuksessa ilmeni, että suurimmat syyt kommunikoinnin kehittymiseen ovat olleet aikuisten kannustus ja kommunikointimenetelmän muutokset oppilaan kasvun myötä. Tutkimushenkilön kommunikoinnin pääasiallinen menetelmä on auditiivinen kommunikointikansio. Kansion rinnalle kehitettiin vuosien aikana myös tietokoneavusteinen versio, jota on mahdollista käyttää pääpainikkeilla, ja se tuo tutkimushenkilön kommunikointiin lisää itsenäisyyttä. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the communication of a school aged research subject has evolved and how the communication methods being used have developed during nine years. Moreover, the thesis explores what are the main phases in the development of the research subject’s communication and which actions have enabled these phases. The theory section examines a school aged pupil with cerebral palsy and the diversity of communication methods in the school environment. This thesis is a case study. The research material consisted of speech therapist reports, HOJKS reports communication sectors and two practice journals. According to the results grown-ups’ support has been the most relevant reason in the development of the research subject’s communication. Furthermore, changing the methods of communication during the pupil’s growth has had a significant impact for her personal development in communication. The main communication method of research subject is an auditory communication book. In addition, the electronical communication aid was developed for the research subject during the study period of years. The electronical communication aid enables the research subject to use push-buttons with his/her head which allows him/her to be more independent while communicating.
