Abstract

S, E131 10 111, ???The Cooperation between Indonesia-\ud Iceland In The Development of Geothermal Energy???, under the guidance of\ud Muhammad Nasir Badu, P.hD as advisor I and Drs. Husain Abdullah, M.Si as\ud advisor II, Department of International Relation, Faculty of Social and Political\ud Sciences, Hasanuddin Univesity, Makassar. \ud \ud This research aims to identify the national interest of Indonesia and Iceland in the\ud development of geothermal energy. Besides that, the research also aimed at finding\ud regression in the cooperation between Indonesia and Iceland. The research method is\ud using descriptive analitic. Data collecting were obtained through primary data obtained \ud through interviews with some respondents and secondary data in forms of books,\ud journals, documents, and other valid sources. All the data were analyzed qualitatively. \ud The result of this study shows the Indonesia national interest in geothermal energy main\ud purpose is to maintain the energy security and also to harnessing the geothermal which\ud is abundant in many area in indonesia soil. And the Iceland national interest is main\ud purpose to invest in geothermal energy as a pioneer in renewable resources in Indonesia\ud which had a great potential in geothermal energy.\ud \ud Keywords : Indonesia, Iceland, National Interest, Geothermal Energ
