Abstract

Photograph of a collage collecting portraits of the early pastors for the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, ca.1864-1894. Eight men are pictured in bust, arranged into two row. Each portrait is surrounded by a rectangular or oval frame, alternately. The name and years of service of each pastor is inscribed beneath his photo among a floral filigree of decorative illustration. Of them only the Reverent Charles S. Uzzel is pictured without a beard (served 1887 to 1888).; The remaining pastors pictured include: Rev. Issac W. Atherton (1868-1871), Rev. John T. Wills (1871-1873), Rev. David T. Packard (1873-1878), Rev. Charles J. Hutchins (1879-1882), Rev. Andrew J. Wells (1882-1887), Rev. Sheldon H. Wheeler (Assistant Pastor 1886-1887) and Rev. Robert D. Hutchins D.D. (1888-1894). Text below the collage reads "Other Former Pastors" suggesting the collage is part of a set
