A Comparative study of cash management operations of Standard Chartered Bank

Abstract

This internship report is submitted in a partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration, 2015.Cataloged from PDF version of Internship report.Includes bibliographical references (page 37).The main objective of the internship program is to fill the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. After doing 8 weeks of internship in to Standard Chartered Bank I have to prepare a report. My internship report consists of three phases. In the first phase, I discuss about Standard Chartered Bank as an organization. Start with a brief introduction, and then move on to its historical background, product offering, organization structure and future vision, mission, goal, policy of Standard Chartered Bank. Then I have focused and described the financial statement of SCB Bangladesh in the previous year along with the elaborate description of SCB operations in Bangladesh in connection with its group policy. As I have the attachment with the Cash Management operation Department, most of the part of this internship report aims at discovering the functions of CMO and its different unit like Foreign Collection Unit, Local Collection Unit, OTT, ITT, STS-PO/DD, Project and Ops risk. The nuecleus of this report is to compare the CMO performance with other leading foreign bank operating in Bangladesh namely HSBC & Citi N.A. After this comparative analysis, I have proceeded with the findings of the analysis, mentioned my recommendation to overcome difficulties and improve efficiencies of CMO department.Anika NawarB.
