Ackerman library books challenged

Abstract

After reviewing a reading list of 12 books to be used in the Canby curriculum, parent Patricia Smith questioned the appropriateness of 4 on the list. She found the 4 books\u27 portrayal of Christianity to be anti-Christian and could encourage the occult, suicide or other ill attitudes. Members of the school board read the challenged books before making their decision to keep them on a supplemental reading list for the class
