It also includes the outline of stages of speech and language development. The thesis deals with biological factors, social environment and family environment important for speech and language development. It also deals with vocabulary related with speech and language development. The research part describes the relationship between reading and the extent of vocabulary, focusing on pupils of secondary schools, aged 12-14
