Abstract

The thesis is focused on ecosystem services provided by urban green areas. The aim is to evaluate the public's awareness of the cultural ecosystem services of urban green areas. The review deals with the concept of ecosystem services and their classification, evaluation and measurement. Furthermore, they are characterized by concept of urban green areas, principle of willingness to pay and contingent valuation method. Then there is the work that contains methodological basis and analysis of the socioeconomic profile of the respondent further evaluated questionnaire aimed at public awareness of the cultural ecosystem services of urban green areas. Following the evaluation of the questionnaire are in discussion compared the results with other international studies
