Abstract

The thesis generally describes matters of data warehouses and knowledge discovery in databases. Then it focuses on the meteorological databases and their problems. The practical part of thesis describes design methods for data mining project, NOAA Global Surface Summary of the Day (GSOD), which is then implemented in two different ways using the Pentaho tools.
