Manufacturing possibilities of the clamping ring part

Abstract

This bachelor work has been elaborated as a part of my bachelor studies of engineering technology and deals with the problem of choosing an optimal method of producing a particular component part named “Clamping ring”. A fundamental emphasis is placed on the economical aspect of the matter while preserving conditions imposed by the client. The component has originally been manufactured by cutting the intermediate out of a sheet metal using a CO2 laser cutting machine, subsequent lathe work, manual boring and creating a thread. This work offers technological alternatives to the manufacturing of the intermediate as well as the following machining. All options are evaluated with regard to the production expenses and lead to a most economically plausible method of manufacturing the entire component part
