THE EFFECT OF PARAMATERS IN THE GRINDING

Abstract

The main purpose of grinding is to produce workpiece in required precision and surface finish. It is also used to machine workpiece above 50 Rc. Since the grinding is a finishing process or for a better passage to the following processes better combination of parameters in grinding must be achieved. In grinding process, because of the effect of the friction and subsequent plastic deformation residual stresses and metallurgic damages occurs in finished workpiece surfaces. Much work has been carried out to minimize these damages. In this article, the experimental and theoretical studies towards the improvement of grinding quality are reviewed
