Imatinib in PDGFR positive malignant solitary fibrous tumour of the pleura

In 2013, two cases of malignant solitary fibrous tumours (MSFTs) were diagnosed in Malta. Both were inoperable at presentation. Both tumours expressed platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) with no mutations and the tyrosine kinase inhibitor imatinib was prescribed.
