Amending the soil with ammoniated rice hull (up to 50% by volume) and rice hull (up to 50% by volume) compared to the full paddy soil prominently increased plant height, circumference, nodes and leaf size. The height of 1st flower appearance in the rice hull mulching area was higher than the ammoniated rice hull and growth vigorousely. According to the first 4 monthes yield and fruit quality, the yield in the ammoniated rice hull area higher than the rice hull area and paddy soil area. The contents of soluble solids in the fruit of rice hull area and ammoniated rice hull area were increased statistically.採用半量稻殼,半量胺化稻殼及全土敷蓋於木瓜園內,經過四個月作植株生育調查,在稻殼區及胺化稻殼區木瓜的株高,幹周徑,節數及葉片大小均較全田土區顯著增加。但在木瓜植株第一朵花出現高度來觀察,稻殼區較胺化稻殼區植株有徒長現象。就以前四個月果實產量及品質而言,胺化稻核區果實產量較高稻殼區及田土區為高些。又胺化稻殼區及稻殼區果實可溶性固形物含量,較全田土區在生物統計上有明顯增加的效果
