"Er starb gleich dem Worte Jhwhs" : Das Auftreten des Propheten Elijas während der Regierung des israelitischen Königs Ahasjas (1 Kön 22,52 - 2 Kön 1,18): eine redaktionsgeschichtliche Untersuchung

Abstract

The subject of the thesis is the relationship between kings and prophets in the Book of Kings. The story of king Ahaziah of Israel and the prophet Elija, related in 1 Kings 22,52 - 2 Kings 1,18, is a representative example of this relationship. The role of the prophet Elijah can be seen as the role of an authoritative interpreter. He tells, how Jhwh assesses the behaviour of king Ahaziah, and how he responds to that behaviour -by punishing him. This is more or less the role of the prophets throughout the Book of Kings
