TERAPI KOMPRES DINGIN UNTUK MENURUNKAN SKALA NYERI IBU POST EPISIOTOMI : LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

ABSTRACT Episiotomy causes long lasting pain and discomfort, days, weeks and even months. Pain due to episiotomy can cause the mother to experience impaired sleep, urinary function, faecal and self-care. This has an impact on the disruption of the postnatal maternal activity so that the proper post-episiotomy pain management is needed to help mothers be able to do normal activities. One of the safe non-pharmacological therapies provided is cold compress therapy, because of the lack of side effects for mothers, as well as the babies he has made. This study aims to determine the effect of cold compresses on the pain reduction of episiotomy post mothers using the literature method of review. Artkel-Articles to be studied obtained through a database of journal providers such as: International Scientific, PubMed and Taylor Francis as well as national journals through Google Scholar, and Garuda. The keywords used are cold compresses, aches, and episiotomy. The selected articles must be subject to inclusion criteria, among others: entry within the period of 2015-2020. The article selection process generates three national journals and one International journal. The results showed that several research journals successfully applied the non-pharmacological therapy to the effective cold compressing technique to lower a post episiotomy mother's pain scale. Therefore, it can be concluded that cold compresses can be used as an alternative in lowering a safe, practical and affordable mother-of-episiotomy post pain scale
