The relationship of Czech consumers to sustainable packaging

Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of ecologically sustainable food packaging and how it is perceived by young Czech consumers. The main goal of this thesis is to analyse the perception of these packaging by consumers, to propose recommendations for better communication and presentation of environmentally sustainable packaging to the public and to improve awareness of these packaging. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the issue of packaging, the definition of environmentally sustainable packaging, the perception of packaging by consumers and subsequent research from abroad. The practical part describes the methodology of data collection and conducted qualitative research. Subsequently, the analysis of data obtained from semi-structured interviews with respondents is performed. Finally, the results of qualitative research are interpreted and discussed with current research results from abroad.Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou ekologicky udržitelných obalů potravin s tím, jak je vnímají mladí čeští spotřebitelé. Hlavním cílem této práce je zanalyzovat vnímání těchto obalů spotřebiteli, navrhnout doporučení ohledně lepší komunikace a prezentace ekologicky udržitelných obalů pro veřejnost a také zlepšit povědomí o těchto obalech. Závěrečná práce je rozdělena na dvě části – teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se věnuje problematice obalů, definování ekologicky udržitelných obalů, vnímání obalů spotřebiteli a následně výzkumům ze zahraničí. V praktické části je popsána metodika sběru dat a provedeného kvalitativního výzkumu. Následně je provedena analýza dat získaných z polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s respondenty. V závěru jsou výsledky kvalitativního výzkumu interpretovány a srovnány se současnými výsledky výzkumů ze zahraničí
