Energy needs keep increasing is not followed by sufficient fuel supply. It is a
must for energy supply in the future to develop renewable alternative and green
energy. One of alternative energy is biofuel especially bioethanol. Indonesia has
richness and diversity potential in biomass that can be converted into bioethanol.
In bioethanol production, fermentation and distillation technique are needed
for both quality and quantity optimum yield. This researchs aim is raising
fractional distillation performance using 6, 8 and 9 mm raschig ring filters
diameters filled at half or full level capacity. The performance parameter that will
be observed and analyzed are ethanol volume, ethanol percentage, optimum time
of distillation, effective time, residue of bioethanol percentage from fractional
pipe, distillations ratio and ethanol pure volume per kilogram of cassava.
This research produced for every 2000 ml beer bioethanol highest volume
117,67 ml in 9 mm ring with half filling, highest ethanol percentage 96,82 % in 6
mm ring with full filling, the fastest distillation time 33,83 minutes in 6 mm with
full filling, the minimum effective time 0,53 min/ml in 9 mm ring with full filling,
the highest distillation ratio 5,88 % in 9 mm ring with half filling and the highest
ethanol pure volume per kilogram cassava 193,07 ml/kg in 9 mm with half
filling. The best variation is the use of 9 mm diameter ring with full filling
