Abstract

Compounding drug is one of the pharmacy services necessary to provide drugs according to the patient's condition . Limitations of special drugs for children available in Indonesia led to the need for prescription compounding drug. The use of compounding drug allows for irrational treatment. The purpose of this study is to describe prescribing patterns for pediatric compounding drug and how the structure of compounding drug services in RSUD Dr.Iskak Tulungagung. The design of the study is non-experimental descriptive studies which is divided into quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research for prescribing patterns blend with taking prescription, the number of data is 600 sheets in accidental towards prescription for pediatrics. Qualitative research on the service structure by observation. Analysis of prescribing patterns include demographic characteristics, the magnitude of R / (Recipe) compounding prescriptions, drugs prescribed in (R/) blends, the number of pediatric patients who received compounded prescription, the amount of active ingredient in each (R/), quality of the preparation perfomed by procedure compounding. Overview of the structure of compounding prescription services with observation and interviews conducted include personnel, facilities, cleanliness, equipment, documentation, and source information of compounding practice. The study states the number of recipes that included age sheet only 6 pieces recipes, weight and body surface area is not listed at all, but it is known to the child of code An or By. Most prescribing doctor is a general practitioners by 47 %. (R/) non compounding drugs more widely prescribed (97 %). The drugs are formulated mostly generic drugs, with the highest formula is antituberculosis drugs. The number of active substances most every (R/) compounding prescribtions are three active substances (37 %). Dosage forms blend dominated by pulveres form (95%). The compounding of pulveres procedures in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures Hospital. Overview of the structure of compounded prescription services include personnel, facilities, cleanliness, equipment, documentation and resources compounding. Hygiene personnel is not qualified for Good Manufacturing Practice
