Automation of raw material processing unit in a brewery using Brewmaxx control platform

Abstract

U ovom radu daje se detaljam prikaz procesa proizvodnje piva na industrijskoj razini. Opisana je struktura i funkcionalnost korisničkog upravljačkog sustava Brewmaxx, te ANSI/ISA88 standarda na kojem se Brewmaxx bazira. Razvijeno je SCADA sučelje i napravljena HMI aplikacija, te je izrađen upravljački program za programibilni logički kontroler, odnosno PLC. Naglasak rada je na postrojenju za obradu slada koji se sastoji od silosa, vage i mlina zajedno sa prijenosnim rutama među te 3 jedinice. Detaljno je objašnjen svaki korak automatiziranog procesa obrade slada u pivarskoj industriji. Ispravnost projektiranog sustava isprobana je kroz simulaciju unutar Brewmaxx sustava, te na stvarnom sustavu u pivovari.This paper gives a detailed description of the industrial production process of making beer. The structure and functionality of the Brewmaxx user management system and the ANSI / ISA88 standard on which Brewmaxx is based is described. The SCADA interface was developed and the HMI application developed. Software that automates the process for a programmable logic controller or a PLC was also made as a part of this paper. The emphasis is on the raw material plant that consists of silos, scale and mill together with the transfer lines between the three units. Every step of the automated process of malting in the brewing industry is explained in detail.Functionality of designed system was tested through simulation within the Brewmaxx system, and on the real system in the brewery
