Da IGREJA AO SINDICATO: A TRAJETÓRIA DO NOVO SINDICALISMO EM FRANCA-SP

Abstract

This paper analyzes the emergence of the so-called new syndicalism in Franca-SP, in the category of footwear workers, from a retrospective of the historical constitution of the industrial sector and the shoe-making movement, to the development of their relations with the Church and, in particular , with the Pastoral Worker. A brief comparison was made between the union profile adopted before and after the so-called trade union turn, the former being more conciliatory and assistentialist, and the second more combative, and classist.Este trabalho analisou o surgimento do chamado novo sindicalismo em Franca-SP, na categoria dos operários calçadistas, a partir de um retrospecto da constituição histórica do setor industrial e do movimento sindical sapateiro, até o desenvolvimento de suas relações com a Igreja e, em particular, com a Pastoral Operária. Foi realizada ainda uma breve comparação entre o perfil sindical adotado antes e depois da chamada virada sindical, sendo o anterior mais conciliador e assistencialista, e o segundo mais combativo, e classista
