Abstract

The Enériz-Ansoti palace (which now houses of the Association of Notaries) is one of the most interesting examples of stately houses in modern Granada. lt is a fine instance of the local late mannerist style, was built as the residence of the Franquis family, and was greatly changed in the 18th century. It is from this time that its salomonic doorway dates, the only one of its kind in the town and a civil variation on the religious architecture of the 18th century. Other salient features are the fa9ade, the colonnadcd courtyard, the public rooms and the oratory chapel, which help to preserve the original domestic character of the building.
