Mei 2013.\ud Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep\ud sifat-sifat cahaya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Science, Environment,\ud Technology, and Society (SETS) pada peserta didik kelas V SD N I Semagarduwur\ud Kecamatan Girimarto, Kabupaten Wonogiri tahun ajaran 2012/2013.\ud Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang\ud dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu\ud perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta\ud didik kelas V SD Negeri I Semagarduwur Girimarto Wonogiri yang berjumlah 18\ud peserta didik. Sumber data berasal dari guru dan peserta didik. Teknik\ud pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah hasil observasi, wawancara,\ud dokumentasi, dan tes. Validitas data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi sumber dan\ud triangulasi teknik. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif\ud yang mempunyai tiga buah komponen yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan\ud kesimpulan.\ud Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata\ud kelas nilai tes pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya pada pratindakan adalah 65\ud dengan persentase ketercapaian kelas sebesar 35%. Pada siklus I, skor rata-rata\ud kelas meningkat menjadi 72,5 dengan persentase ketercapaian kelas sebesar 50%.\ud Pada siklus II, skor rata-rata kelas meningkat lagi menjadi 82,06 dengan persentase\ud ketercapaian kelas sebesar 88,89%.\ud Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa melalui model\ud pembelajaran Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) dapat\ud meningkatkan nilai pemahaman konsepsifat-sifat cahaya pada peserta didik kelas V\ud SD Negeri I Semagarduwur, Girimarto, Wonogiri tahun ajaran 2012/2013.\ud Kata kunci: Sifat-sifat cahaya, Science, Environment, Technology, and Society\ud (SETS)\ud \ud \ud ABSTRACT\ud Maya Wulandari. May 2013.\ud The objective of this research is to improve the conceptual\ud understanding on the characteristics of light through the learning models of\ud Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) of the students in Grade V\ud of State Primary School I of Semagarduwur, Girimarto sub-district, Wonogiri in the\ud Academic Year 2012/2013.\ud This research used the classroom action research method with two cycles.\ud Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation,\ud observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the students in Grade\ud V of State Primary School I of Semagarduwur, Girimarto sub-district, Wonogiri as\ud many as 18 students. The data of the research were gathered from the teacher and\ud the students thorugh observation, in-depth interview, documentation, and test. The\ud data were validated by using source and technique triangulations. They were then\ud analyzed by using the interactive model of analysis comprising three components,\ud namely: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.\ud The results of the research show that prior to the treatment, the class average\ud score on the Characteristics of Light is 65 with the minimum learning completeness\ud of 35%. Following the treatment, the class average scores become 72.5 with the\ud minimum learning completeness of 50% in Cycle I, and 82.06 with the minimum\ud learning completeness of 88.89% in Cycle II respectively.\ud Based on the results of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the learning\ud model of Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) can improve the\ud conceptual understanding on the characteristics of light of the students in Grade V\ud of State Primary School I of Semagarduwur, Girimarto sub-district, Wonogiri in the\ud Academic Year 2012/2013.\ud Keywords: Characteristics of Light and Science, Environment, Technology, and\ud Society (SETS
