Uloga kriznog komuniciranja tijekom financijske krize. Primjer: Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. 2007./2008.

Abstract

Odnosi s javnošću danas označavaju cijeli skup djelatnosti. Iznimno je bitno jasno i precizno definirati sam pojam te shvatiti njegovo značenje. Organizacije su spoznale važnu ulogu koju ispunjavanju odnosi s javnošću. Korporativni element odnosa s javnošću prisutan je unutar organizacija te se bavi čitavim spektrom aktivnosti koje su organizaciji neophodne za poslovanje. Etički aspekti odnosa s javnošću prisutni su tijekom cjelokupnog poslovanja te prilikom svake odluke koji stručnjaci za odnose s javnošću svakodnevno donose. Krizno komuniciranje jest jedan od dijelova koji se spominje unutar komunikacije te je najočitiji u trenucima kada je organizacija suočena sa kriznom situacijom te kada je više od svega potrebno jasno, točno i bez zadrške, ali istovremeno i iskreno komunicirati. Kao studij slučaja uzet je primjer Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.. Na tom primjeru tumačilo se kako je krizna komunikacija nužna tijekom kriznih vremena, ali isto tako potrebno je i pratiti neka ustaljena pravila prilikom krizne komunikacije. Problemi koji nastaju prilikom zaobilaženja tih istih pravila mogu uzrokovati ogromnu štetu kompaniji kako u reputaciji tako neizbježno i u financijskom smislu.Public relations today are covering a vast array of activities. It is out of paramount importance to define clearly and precisely the term itself and to understand what does it mean. Organisations have recognized the important role the public relations have today. Corporate communications are only a part of public relations and are present within organizations themselves and are indispensible to any organisation. Ethical aspect of public relations are present during the entire bussines proces and they must be taken into account every time a public relations expert makes a decision. Crisis communication is one of many activities corporate communication is responsible for and it is the part of communication effort that is most visible to the general public during crises when clear, accurate and honest communication is needed. Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was analayzed as a case study. That example was used in order to explain how crisis communication is absolutely necessary during times of major disruptions but also how some rules of that kind of communication must be followed. The problems arising from violating some of those rules will harm the organization not just in terms of reputational damage but also financially
