Sinergisme Fraksi Etil Asetat Rimpang Lengkuas Dengan Umbi Bawang Dayak, Kulit Manggis, Biji Mahoni, dan Rimpang Jahe Pada Sel T47D

Abstract

Galangal (Alpinia galanga (L.) Willd.) is one of the natural ingredients that has the potential to be developed as an anticancer drug. In addition to galangal, other plants that are also reported to have anticancer activities are dayak onions (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill.) Urb.), mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana (L.)), mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni (L.) Jacq.), and ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe.). This study aimed to determine the synergism of the four plants ethyl acetate fraction with galangal rhizome ethyl acetate fraction in T47D cells. The extract was obtained by maceration method using methanol solvent then fractionation was carried out using ethyl acetate and distilled water solvents to obtain ethyl acetate fraction. Cytotoxic activity was tested by using MTT method and read using an ELISA reader at a wavelength of 550 nm. The results showed that a single galangal rhizome test and a combination test with four plants gave cytotoxic activity which was equally moderate to T47D cells, so it could be concluded that the combination of four plants with galangal rhizomes showed an additive effect. The result showed the combination of galangal-mangosteen rhizome rhizome had stronger cytotoxic activity (IC50 41,860 µg/mL) compared to single galangal rhizome (IC50 65,383 µg/mL)
