Students’ assessment of the university lecturer’s pedagogical activity: possibilities of factor analysis

Публикация базируется на результатах социологического исследования, проведенного Институтом комплексных исследований образования МГУ имени М.В.Ломоносова по заказу крупного негосударственного вуза. Рассмотрены возможности использования процедуры факторного анализа для выявления моделей оценки студентами педагогической деятельности преподавателя вуза. Делается вывод о том, что позиционирование педагогов в сознании студентов может происходить более чем по одному измерению. Выявлены две модели оценки педагогической деятельности преподавателя с условными названиями «педагогическое мастерство» и «педагогическая прогрессивность».The publication is based on the results of sociological research, conducted by the Institute for Complex Research Education Lomonosov Moscow State University commissioned by the largest private university. It is considered the possibilities of using the procedure of factor analysis to identify students’ assessment models of university lecturer’s pedagogical activity. The conclusion is that teachers positioning in the minds of students can occur in more than one dimension. It is identified two models of evaluation of pedagogical activity of the teacher such as: "pedagogical skills" and "pedagogical progressiveness.
