Second cochlear implant auditory advantages Sequential y simultaneous : Systematic Review

Abstract

Method: A search of the information found in the databases used was drawn, selecting those were invited to present a comparison between the two implantations or demostrases some of its features, such as surgical. 6 items based case-control and cohort studies were found. Key words: “Bilateral cochlear implant”, “Auditory brainstem cochlear implant”, “Binaural hearing”, “delay implantation”, “sequential bilateral cochlear implant” y “simultaneous bilateral cochlear implant” Results: The results showed that there is indeed greater advantage of hearing for those subjects implanted simultaneously versus the implanted sequentially ones in most aspects surrounding the hearing, in addition to finding evidence that, in order to discuss the surgical experience, this does not has major complications and less time is spent. Conclusions: Having completed this systematic review, it was found that there should be cases studies and cohort studies with a larger sample and with a real blind when making them. Studies that encompass all aspects and not just two or three per article.Grado en Logopedi
