Abstract

História, memória, tradição, carácter, composição, função. Valores inerentes à Quinta Solar de Leirós, construção de cariz popular, desenvolvida e modificada para corresponder às necessidades que uma longa vida ditou. Com uma forte ligação a actividades agrícolas e pecuárias, onde, outrora, moraram mais de vinte pessoas e muitas outras encontraram aqui um meio de subsistência, torna-se primordial entender e respeitar a herança histórica e cultural deste lugar. Neste sentido, a proposta de intervenção segue uma linha de pensamento sustentada na premissa de convergir as novas ideias concebidas para a Quinta com a intenção de preservar, tanto quanto possível, todas as experiências e sensações que este património nos transmite. Tendo por base uma avaliação aprofundada da pré-existência, é desencadeado um conjunto de acções que visam restabelecer a dignidade de uma construção em acelarada decadência. A recuperação dos valores existentes é intercalada com a introdução de novos conceitos, com o intuito de abrir a porta a uma próxima etapa, caracterizada pela conjugação do novo com o antigo, numa simbiose expressa em relações intemporais entre as diferentes intervenções exercidas ao longo da história do Solar.History, memory, tradition, character, composition, function. With a strong connection to agricultural and livestock activities, where once more than twenty people lived and many others found a means of subsistence here, it is essential to understand and respect the historical and cultural richness of this place. In this sense, the intervention proposal follows a line of thought based on the premise of converging new ideas conceived for the homestead with the intention of preserving as much as possible all the experiences and sensations that this patrimony transmits to us. Based on an in-depth evaluation of the pre-existence, a set of actions are set in motion to restore the dignity of a building in accelerated decay. The recovery of existing values is intercalated with the introduction of new concepts, with the intention of opening the door to a next stage, characterized by the combination of the new and the old, in a symbiosis expressed in timeless relationships between the different interventions carried out throughout the history of the place
