The Formal Approach to Problem Domain Modelling Within Model Driven Architecture

Abstract

This paper represents an approach that introduces more formalism into problem domain modeling within OMG Model Driven Architecture and bridges a gap between models of the business system and the application. The basis of this approach is Topological Functioning Modeling (TFM) that allows representing knowledge of problem domain functionality from a computation independent viewpoint.
