Survey of inviromental health indicators in Ardabil's hospitals

Abstract

Introduction : One of the most basical enpertise services in hospital is environmental health indicators such as water, waste water and waste. This study is done in order to identify the environmental health indicators situation in Ardabil hospital during 2007-2008. Material & Methods : The study was a descriptive study which has been done based on collection information through observation, interview, and filling the cheek list. In Ardabil,s hospital (6 hospital) and was analysed using descriptive method. Results : Fifty percent of hospital dose not had water reservoir tank.The used water guality in these hospitals were not according to power ministry criteria,instead the amount of residual free chlorine in majority of test were out of standard.Among these sewage water,two of them were not used very wel.and it was estimated that every production of hospital was 0.8 to 3.5 kg for per bed in a day.In all hospitals, all infected material is separated from noninfected and sharp and catter waste were collected in safety box.The ephemeral store place and final buried of waste in all hospitals were not according to present critetias all kitehen officers (cooks) in hospital had participation lisence in general health and 65 percent of them (kitchen officer) had health test card.fifty percent of laundryes were not according to formal principals regarding to building and in one thired of hospitals, the infected clothes separated from noninfected ones and they all washed separately.laboratoris and surgery units were better than other wards regarding to healthy services.and the worst condition was the emergency ward observing this item. Conclusion: The environmental health indicator positions of hospitals studied in this article were not according to increase present situation
