    Arabic Teaching and Learning in Matriculation Program for Al-Azhar Student’s Candidate

    This study aims to analyze Arabic learning material conducted by Pusiba and El-Darosah, which are official institutions for language studies for preparing prospective students who want to study in the Middle East, especially Egypt. This institution prepared language skills, aspects of mentality, and Islamic and national insight based on Al-Azhar's vision. This research was qualitative, using content analysis and sociolinguistic approaches, in which the study of a language was not only limited to the involvement of intrinsic as structure’s perceptions, but also extrinsic aspects, such as social, cultural, economic, political and others were done by post-structuralism. This research showed that the Pusiba and El-Darosah institutions as their official representatives have succeeded in explaining the identity of Al-Azhar, that is wasatiyah (moderate) Islamic views contained learning texts which were the main axis in learning Arabic such as al-Islam wa Huriyah al-‘Aqidah, al-‘Adl fi al-Islâm, al-‘Adl fi Mu’âmalah Ahl al-Diyânât al-Ukhrâ, Samâhah al-Islam ma’a Ahl al-Diyânât al-Ukhrâ, Mafhûm al-Huriyah fi al-Islam, al-Hiwâr ma’a al-Âkhar, and Al-Azhar wa Wasathiyah al-Islam, which were presented in several steps of Arabic learning books developed by Al-Azhar university

    Al-Kulira’s Poetry Works of Nazik al-Malaika: Sociological Literature Analysis

    In 1947, Egypt experienced a cholera epidemic that killed thousands of people every day for three months. Furthermore, Nazik al-Malaika wrote a poem entitled al-Kulira. The poem describes events and expresses deep sorrow over the spread of cholera. The poem became the first free poetry in Arabic literature. This study describes the sociological theory of Wellek & Werren's to find state point of view of the author, the sociology of literary works, and the sociology of the readers of al-Kulira’s poetry, with descriptive analysis method and objective approach. The results of this study is in terms of socio-cultural background in authorship; Nazik, was born in an environment that loves science and literature. It was concluded that Nazik's thought of composing al-Kulira's poetry was influenced by the cholera epidemic sweeping Egypt then. Nazik's expressions in his poetry, which are filled with sorrow and sadness, are influenced by the large number of Egyptian people who died due to a cholera epidemic

    This research comprehensively describes implementing the "Whoop it Up" strategy in Arabic language learning integrated with the AIR model (Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition) Learning Model in Arabic Language Learning at MTs Bilingual NU Pucang. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through detailed observation and analysis, enhancing active student engagement, peer interaction, and reflection on the learning material. Within the AIR model, Arabic language learning goes beyond a passive process, involving students actively in language use, encouraging peer interaction, and fostering reflection on their understanding of the material. The combination of these two approaches offers diverse advantages. It can create a more engaging and interactive learning experience. At the same time, the AIR model provides additional structure and resources to support student understanding to create a dynamic learning environment, motivating students to participate actively and providing a holistic learning experience in comprehending and using the Arabic language. This research contributes valuable insights to develop innovative and effective teaching methods in the context of Arabic language learning

    Techniques and Quality Translation of Interrogative Sentence Dubbing: English-Indonesian and English-Arabic in The Cartoon Movie

    This article aims to describe the types of interrogative sentences in The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on The Run, translation techniques, and the quality of the translation results. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research are as follows: Based on the translation, interrogative sentences are divided into two types: translations without a shift of 137 data and translations with a shift of 20 data. In this research, it was found that 16 of the 18 translation techniques in the Molina & Albir version were dominated by common equivalent techniques, namely 187 data (41%) in TL 1 and 245 data (46%) in TL 2. Of the 157 data, 113 quality data were found in English-Indonesian dubbing with a score of 2.73 and 115 data in English-Arabic with a score of 2.69. So, the quality results of the dubbing translation of English-Indonesian and English-Arabic question sentences are included in the excellent category. It can be concluded that shifts and translation techniques influence the results of translation quality

    The Suitability of Visual Images in Baina Yadaik Arabic Textbook

    This study was brought up due to 308 mismatches of images with the written vocabulary in the Baina Yadaik Arabic textbook. This research focused on the compatibility of visual images with written vocabulary. The object used was 1386 images in 8 chapters of the Baina Yadaik Arabic textbook volume 1A. Baina Yadaik Arabic book is an Arabic learning book used to help learners learn everyday vocabulary for beginners. This research used the visual representational mode theory by Kress and Van Leeuwen. The methodology of this study was a descriptive qualitative with multimodal discourse analysis. The VGG Image Annotator corpus tools assisted this research to analyze images with written vocabulary. This study concluded that visual images are one of the essential components of learning Arabic. Many images in Baina Yadaik Arabic textbook volume 1A do not match the written vocabulary. This book still adheres to Arabic culture, which is very different from the culture in Indonesia, and needs special attention for teacher to use this book as a learning tool

    Teaching Aids Development for Arabic Lessons to Enhance Student’s Reading Skills

    This study aims to enhance students reading skills of the ninth-grade students in Madrasah I'dadiyah Muhammadiyah. This research is research and development Borg & Gall study used to obtain a specific production, know the effectiveness of its implementation, and verify its validity for scholars, using the qualitative and quantitative approach to analyze quantitative and qualitative data. The methods used in it consisted of interviews, Tests, questionnaires, and written documents. In analyzing the data, this research used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 25 SPSS 25 method T-Test, and the Wilcoxon Signed. The developed educational aids come in the Android program by choosing the appropriate material, exercises, and teaching methods. The effectiveness is obtained from the results of the pre and post-tests by implementing: descriptive statistical analysis, conditional testing, and inferential testing in the extended experiment, and the result indicates that there is progress in their language proficiency, especially in reading skills. These teaching aids are attractive and exciting and help students learn Arabic, especially reading Arabic

    The Role of Arabic Lexicons in Teaching Ta’bîr Material at the Islamic Boarding School for Girls

    This research highlights the importance of the Arabic lexicon in teaching and studying ta’bîr courses in Ma’had al-Imarat Bandung. This qualitative research depends on a field study and a descriptive analysis. This importance is due to three aspects: The first is the ta’bîr courses of materials prescribed in any Arabic language learning institutes to develop students’ four skills. The second is that lexicons are tools for teaching and learning the Arabic language, especially in the subject matter of ta’bîr. The third is that the Arabic lexicon is one of the primary sources people refer to correct their linguistic knowledge. The results indicate that language acquisition is the most important of that knowledge. Furthermore, in acquiring the Arabic language, many factors are linguistic and non-linguistic.     The Grammatical Deviations in The Arabic Debate Competition in Indonesia

    This study aimed to describe the form of Arabic grammatical errors that occur in the Arabic debate competition in Indonesia both off-line and on-line, the factors, the impact, and solutions for grammatical errors. The material object of this research was the video of the Arabic debate competition in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to grammatical errors in the video of the Arabic debate competition in Indonesia. The results showed that  29 grammatical errors were found in syntax errors and 18 morphological errors. From the 47 errors found, the factors were inter-language errors or interference and intra-language errors. These factors have an impact on changing the meaning of a sentence and also have an impact on misunderstanding communication between speakers. The solutions offered to improve and reduce the error are the need for good preparation in syntactic and morphological aspects for debaters before competing, conducting intensive training, and increasing seriousness in exploring and understanding Arabic debate

    Praxeology Concept: Investigating the Actions of Primary School Teachers in Achieving Arabic Teaching

    This study presents the results of an investigation of Arabic teachers' actions at the primary school level in achieving the objectives of teaching and learning Arabic. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with two data collection techniques: observations and interviews. The collected data then were analyzed using a didactic anthropological theory based on three main components: the teachers' desire (want) to act, the means or methods used by the teachers, and the results or objectives (end) achieved by the teacher's actions. The results of this study showed that first, Arabic teachers had a strong desire to overcome the problems faced by the students, especially in the demotivating aspect of studying Arabic. Second, from the results of those desires, the Arabic teachers determined and used several methods such as presenting the materials using songs, cartoon videos and integrating Islamic religious knowledge. Third, the actions or methods used by the Arabic teachers resulted in positive outcomes in teaching and learning Arabic for students at the primary school level

    Among the problems of learning Arabic in Indonesia is the low pedagogic competence of teachers, which can be improved by attending regular and planned training. The purpose of the article is to understand (1) the need for Arabic teachers for instructional training (2) to measure the correlation between teacher needs and training with gender and educational background. This research is descriptive quantitative, using a questionnaire instrument. Data analysis using the SPSS program. The results showed a significant difference between the mean score of the study sample and the hypothetical mean in lesson planning. There is a significant difference between the average score of the study sample and the hypothetical average in the implementation of the lesson. There is a significant difference between the mean score of the study sample and the hypothetical mean in the learning technique. There was no significant difference between the samples in Arabic teacher training needs other than the gender variable. There is a significant difference between the Bachelors and Masters groups in learning technology, and not in other educational backgrounds
