Enhancing Sustainable Transparency: A Content Analysis of Sustainability Reporting in Financial vs. Non-financial Sectors
Sustainability reporting is becoming increasingly important for companies across various industries due to the growing awareness of sustainability issues and the stakeholders demand for sustainability performance information. However, sustainability reporting practices might differ throughout industries due to their specific characteristics. This study aims to compare sustainable reporting practices in financial and non-financial industries. A descriptive qualitative approach using secondary data is chosen in which the 2022 sustainability report was produced by the top ten financial and non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study uses content analysis with Landrum model categories and keyword frequency to evaluate the transparency levels of financial and non-financial industries’ sustainability reporting. The findings reveal that financial industries disclose more about the environment or ecology than non-financial industries that are more business- centered. The results of this study contribute to companies improving sustainable reporting practices and helping stakeholders understand sustainability information reported by companies in different industries so that they can make better decisions
Cryptocurrency Contagion: How Does It Differ From the Commodity Contagion?
Given the recent substantial increase in market capitalization of bitcoin (BTC) and oil, both of them are considered alternative investments and could affect the traditional financial markets. This study compares the contagions between bitcoin (BTC) and oil to major American, European, and Asian equity markets. The contagion analysis follows the procedures from Forbes and Rigobon (2002) in analyzing the jumps in the correlation coefficients and suggests a new idea by extracting and evaluating the idiosyncratic components. The idiosyncratic part refers to the unique series after filtering the common/global part. Analyzing this part allows us to prevent bias due to global factors. This novelty analysis extends previous studies by filtering the common factor. Thus, allowing us to thoroughly investigate specific country. Using the daily return series from January 1, 2016, to January 1, 2024 (downloaded from the investing website), I document that both BTC and oil transmit contagion to the major equity markets, albeit in different directions. BTC (oil) tends to trigger positive (negative) contagion. The results are consistent regardless of whether the daily return or idiosyncratic series are used and when the correlations are adjusted for heteroskedasticity
Analysis of the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on Stock Transaction Volume and Stock Prices in the Tourism Company Group Listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2023
This study aims to analyse the effect of COVID-19 and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on the volume of stock transactions and stock prices in the tourism company group listed on the IDX in 2018-2023. This study uses quantitative research methods with panel data analysis and is processed using Eviews 12. The dependent variable is the volume of stock transactions and stock prices. The independent variables in this study are the value of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and COVID-19, which are used as dummy numbers. This research shows that COVID-19 has a significant negative effect on the price of shares and a significant positive effect on the volume of stock transactions. Meanwhile, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) does not affect changes in stock prices or stock transaction volume
Determinants of ShopeePay Usage Intention Among Generation Z in Malang: A TAM-Based Analysis
E-wallets are a transaction tool that is most in demand by the people of Indonesia. One of the e-wallets that has a high number of enthusiasts in Indonesia is ShopeePay. This study aims to determine the factors influencing interest in using the ShopeePay e-wallet as a transaction tool for Generation Z in Malang. This study uses the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) model with independent variables of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, perceived security, trust, and the dependent variable, namely interest in use. This research is quantitative. This research uses a purposive sampling method with data analysis using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The criteria in this study are members of Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2007, who use the ShopeePay e-wallet. The total number of respondents is 100 individuals. The results showed that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and trust affect the interest in using the ShopeePay e-wallet. Meanwhile, perceived risk and perceived security do not affect interest in using the ShopeePay e-wallet
Analyzing the Influence of Non-Performing Assets: A Comparative Study between SBI and HDFC
Non-performing assets (NPAs) pose an enduring and intricate challenge within the banking sector, carrying far-reaching consequences for both financial stability and broader economic growth. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of NPAs and their impact on the financial performance of HDFC and SBI. Based on the analysis of the NPA data of the two banks, it is found that the NPA ratio for State Bank of India is in the range of 1.02%-5.73%, which is on the higher side in comparison to the NPA of HDFC, which lies between 0.20%-0.64% for the period 2007-8 to 2021-2022. In both cases, NPA has a negative impact on profitability, but it is much higher in SBI. These findings may help SBI reinvent its credit policy and the credited process of its credit business to different customer segments
The Impact of Economic Factors on Changing Carbon Emission Landscape in ASEAN With ARDL Approach
This study aims to analyze the factors influencing carbon emissions in the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The data used in this study covers the period from 1990 to 2021, utilizing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) analysis method. All independent variables show a significant impact on carbon emissions in both the short and long term. This research provides evidence that factors such as urbanization, foreign direct investment, population, and economic growth significantly contribute to the increase in carbon emissions in ASEAN countries. The findings also validate the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis for carbon emissions in ASEAN countries. In other words, economic growth leads to a reduction in carbon emissions. The ASEAN region has experienced substantial economic growth over the past few decades. However, carbon dioxide (CO2) remains a socio-economic issue in the ASEAN region. The results of this study can be highly beneficial for policymakers in the region regarding sustainability and economic development
Measuring the Role of Social Media and E-word of Mouth on Purchase Intention of Secondate Make-up Products
Purchase intention is important to pay attention to because it relates to consumer interest in trying, buying, and owning products such as beauty products. Furthermore, it can be seen from the consumer's behavior of parasocial interaction, social value, and personal value towards the influencer, which will affect their interest in buying the product. This research takes the object of research as an owner as well as an influencer for beauty products Secondate. The research design uses a deductive approach with a quantitative research model to determine the impact of influencers on the quality of parasocial interaction, social values, personal values, and e-wom on purchase intention. The sample of this study were secondary make-up users with a total of 169 respondents. Data analysis used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The results of the study show that parasocial interaction affects social value. Parasocial interaction increases positive perceptions of personal value, and social value can increase consumer purchase intention, but personal value cannot attract consumer purchase intention. Parasocial interaction does not affect consumer purchase intention, so e-wom does not moderate the effect of parasocial interaction on consumer purchase intention. The results of this study concluded that social media can be a means to affect the interest in buying a product. With the respondent's research on social value and personal value, it can be said that it affects a person's buying interest in a product. Social value and personal value can help us to sort out which products we need and which are suitable for us
The Effect of Financial Ratios on Stock Returns: By Mediation of Price Earning Ratio
This study was conducted to analyze financial ratios effects towards Stock Returns in which the mediating variable is Price Earning Ratio (PER). The financial ratios are Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Price to Book Value (PBV), and Return on Equity (ROE). This study uses a population of 65 real estate and property enterprises appeared in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This research’s samples are 36 companies registered in 2018-2020 IDX list. The data analysis technique uses Partial Least Square. The results showed (1) ROE and DER did not directly affect Stock Returns, (2) PBV directly affected Stock Returns, (3) ROE had an effect on Stock Returns partially mediated by the PER, (4) PBV and PER had no effect on Stock Returns mediated by the PER. The implications of the research result in investors needing to know the right time to make profitable investment decisions by analyzing the company's financial ratios to Stock Returns, which are an indicator of the level of profit earned by investors
Optimizing Employee Experience and Coaching to Reduce Turnover Intention: A Growth Mindset Moderation Study in Leasing Companies
Generation Y and Generation Z have been entering workplace and dominating various jobs in organizations. These two cohorts share similar characteristics including, among other things, the need of self-development and the need of challenging jobs that enable them to avoid boredom. When these needs are not met their desires to leave the organization is likely to occur. Providing positive personal experience and proper coaching at work may help resolve the aforementioned negative consequence. This research aimed to address this issues. A sample of 182 of employees from the two cohorts who worked for leasing companies in Yogyakarta participated in the research. Purposive sampling was adopted to invite respondent participation. An online survey was employed to gather the data. The PLS-SEM method was used to analyze the data . Findings of the research show that employee experience and leadership coaching skills have a negative influence on turnover intention. A growth mindset strengthens the negative impact of employee experience on turnover intention. However, a growth mindset was found not to have any moderating influence on the effect of leadership coaching skills on turnover intention. Managerial and scholarly implication are then outlined

This study aims to determine the direct influence of organizational culture, work environment, and leadership on employee performance at PT Talenta Heba Parnita Depok. The sample in this study 57 people were using the method of determining saturated sampling techniques. The instrument test technique in this study uses the IBM Statistical Package For Social Sciences (SPSS) software application with the regression analysis method. The results showed that organizational culture, work environment, and leadership simultaneously and partially had a positive and significant effect on employee performance
