    Analysis of financial statements with assessment of the financial stability of the selected company

    Sadržaj ovoga specijalističkoga diplomskoga stručnog rada je procjena financijske stabilnosti poduzeća koja će se provesti putem analize financijskih izvještaja. Odabrano poduzeće koje je tema ovog rada je RS metali d.d. iz Svete Nedelje. Poduzeće je srednje veličine po broju zaposlenika te pripada metaloprerađivačkoj industriji. Predmet istraživanja je procjena financijske stabilnosti a koristi se analizom financijskih izvještaja bilance i računa dobiti i gubitka poduzeća i novčanog toka za za 2020. godinu, 2021. godinu, i 2022. godinu. Financijska stabilnost poduzeća čini temeljnu osnovnu prilikom donošenja poslovnih odluka uprave, ali i odluka što ih prema potrebi donose poslovni partneri, potencijalni investitori, banke i ostali zainteresirani subjekti. Temeljno na procjenu financijske stabilnosti donose se odluke o kratkoročnom financiranju, dugoročnom zaduživanju, te se planira buduće poslovanje i postavljaju se poslovni ciljevi. Da bi se dobila ispravna procjena stabilnosti, potrebno je analizirati financijske izvještaje poduzeća. Financijski izvještaji koji su korišteni kao izvor podataka za procjenu stabilnosti su bilanca te račun dobiti i gubitka za određeno razdoblje. Analiza izvještaja provedena je kroz pojedinačne, skupne te sintetičke ili zbirne financijske pokazatelje. Detaljnije, analiza provest će se kroz sljedeće pokazatelje: pokazatelji likvidnosti, aktivnosti, ekonomičnosti, zaduženosti te Altmanova Z-score modela, BEX indexa i Kralicekova DF pokazatelja. Osim same procjene financijske stabilnosti i analize financijskih izvještaja, u radu će se teorijski obraditi pojmovi i sadržaj financijskih izvještaja kao i svi relevantni zakonski okviri za njihovo sastavljanje. Dobivenim rezultatima dolazi se do krajnjeg izračuna i interpretacije financijske stabilnosti poduzeća te će se napraviti temelj za daljnje donošenje poslovnih odluka.The content of this specialist graduate professional thesis is the assessment of the financial stability of a company, conducted through an analysis of financial statements. The selected company, which is the subject of this thesis, is RS Metali d.d. from Sveta Nedelja. The company is medium-sized in terms of the number of employees and belongs to the metal processing industry. The research subject is the assessment of financial stability, using the analysis of the company's balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and cash flow statement for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022. Financial stability serves as a fundamental basis for decisionmaking by the company's management, as well as for decisions made by business partners, potential investors, banks, and other stakeholders as needed. Decisions regarding short-term financing, long-term borrowing, future business planning, and the setting of business goals are based on the assessment of financial stability. To ensure an accurate assessment of stability, it is necessary to analyze the company's financial statements. The financial statements used as data sources for this assessment include the balance sheet and profit and loss statement for the specified periods. The analysis of the reports is conducted through individual, group, and synthetic (or aggregate) financial indicators. Specifically, the analysis will include the following indicators: liquidity, activity, profitability, indebtedness, as well as Altman’s Z-score model, the BEX index, and Kralicek’s DF indicator. In addition to assessing financial stability and analyzing financial statements, the thesis will theoretically address the concepts and content of financial statements and all relevant legal frameworks for their preparation. The results obtained will lead to a final calculation and interpretation of the company’s financial stability, forming a foundation for further business decision-making

    Tijekom 2020. godine Republiku Hrvatsku su, uz pandemiju koronavirusa, pogodila i dva snažna potresa. Prvi se dogodio u ožujku na području grada Zagreba i Zagrebačke županije, a drugi se dogodio 29. prosinca te iste godine i pogodio je područje Sisačko-moslavačke županije. Materijalna šteta bila je ogromna, mnoge su građevine razrušene i oštećene, a bilo je i sedam ljudskih žrtava. Potres je uzrokovao velike materijalne štete na području gradova Siska, Petrinje, Gline te u okolnim naseljima. Iznos štete od potresa u Sisačko-moslavačkoj županiji procijenjen je na preko 5 milijardi eura. Tu je uključena i materijalna imovina lokalnih poduzetnika čije je poslovanje zbog posljedica potresa ozbiljno narušeno. Svrha je ovoga istraživanja istražiti učinke potresa na poslovanje poduzetnika i obrtnika Sisačko-moslavačke županije pomoću metode ankete. Istraživanje je prikazalo načine na koji je potres utjecao na obrtnike i poduzetnike u Sisačko-moslavačkoj županiji, s kojim su se problemima i izazovima susretali tada te koje su posljedice potres i reakcija različitih interesnih skupina ostavili na poslovanje lokalnih poduzetnika danas, četiri godine poslije potresa. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na potrebu za većom institucionalnom podrškom, bržim procesima obnove i dugoročnim strateškim ulaganjima kako bi se osigurala gospodarska stabilnost. Preporučuje se pojačano ulaganje u lokalno poduzetništvo, modernizaciju infrastrukture te koordinirana suradnja ključnih dionika na državnoj i regionalnoj razini.During 2020, Croatia faced not only the COVID-19 pandemic but also two powerful earthquakes. The first occurred in March in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County, while the second struck on December 29 of the same year, impacting the Sisak-Moslavina County. The material damage was immense, with many buildings destroyed or damaged, and there were seven human casualties. The earthquake caused significant material damage in the cities of Sisak, Petrinja, Glina, and surrounding settlements. The estimated cost of damage in Sisak-Moslavina County exceeded 5 billion euros. This amount includes the material assets of local entrepreneurs whose businesses were severely disrupted by the earthquake's consequences. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the earthquake on the businesses of entrepreneurs and craftsmen in the Sisak-Moslavina County using a survey questionnaire method. The research highlights the ways in which the earthquake impacted entrepreneurs and craftsmen in Sisak-Moslavina County, the problems and challenges they faced at the time, and the consequences of the earthquake, as well as the response of various stakeholders on the business activities of local entrepreneurs today, four years after the earthquake. The research results highlight the need for greater institutional support, faster recovery processes, and long term strategic investments to ensure economic stability. It is recommended to enhance investments in local entrepreneurship, modernize infrastructure, and foster coordinated collaboration among key stakeholders at the national and regional levels

    Comparison of entrepreneurial expectations and actual outcomes of selected independent entrepreneurial and franchise ventures

    Cilj ovog završnog rada je usporediti poduzetnička očekivanja i stvarne ishode neovisnih poduzetničkih pothvata i onih pokrenutih kupnjom franšize. Istraživanje se temelji na analizi teorija poduzetništva, razmatranju inovacija, rizika, održivosti, pravnih i operativnih aspekata te provedenim polustrukturiranim intervjuima. U radu je istražen značaj brenda, treninga, podrške i mentorstva u razvoju samostalnih poduzetničkih pothvata i onih kroz kupnju franšize. Kroz teorijski i empirijski pristup, obrađene su razlike u fleksibilnosti, autonomiji i rizicima koje pružaju oba modela. Usporedbom očekivanja poduzetnika i stvarnih ishoda, u fokus je stavljen pojam vremenskog perioda potrebnog za uhodavanje u posao i pojam trajnosti poslovanja. U tu svrhu, provedeno je istraživanje polustrukturiranim intervjuima na uzorku od šest poduzetnika (dva neovisna, dva koja su kupili franšizu i dva koji su kupili franšizu, ali su prekinuli ugovor i nastavili rad samostalno). Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da očekivanja poduzetnika često nisu u skladu sa stvarnim ishodima, a ključni čimbenici uspjeha i izazova variraju ovisno o poslovnom modelu. Neovisni poduzetnici često ističu veću slobodu i samostalnost, ali i veće rizike, dok primatelji franšize naglašavaju značaj brenda, podrške i uhodanog poslovnog modela, uz manje rizike. Poduzetnici koji su prešli s franšize na samostalno poslovanje ističu važnost strateške prilagodbe tržištu, a ključne lekcije odnose se na upravljanje ljudskim resursima i upravljanj financijama. Zaključak ističe važnost razumijevanja izazova oba modela za buduće poduzetnike. Preporučuje se daljnje istraživanje kako bi se pružila dublja analiza dugoročnih uspjeha i izazova poduzetničkih pothvata.The aim of this thesis is to compare entrepreneurial expectations and actual outcomes of independent entrepreneurial ventures with those initiated through franchise acquisition. This investigation is based on an analysis of entrepreneurial theories, innovation, risk, sustainability, legal and operational aspects, informed by semistructured interviews we conducted. We examine the significance of branding, training, support, and mentorship in both independent entrepreneurial ventures and franchisebased businesses. We explore differences in flexibility, autonomy, and risks offered by both models through a theoretical and empirical approach. The comparison of entrepreneurial expectations and actual outcomes focuses on the time required to establish a business and the concept of business sustainability. For this purpose, we conducted semi-structured interviews with six entrepreneurs: two independent entrepreneurs, two franchisees, and two entrepreneurs who initially acquired a franchise but terminated their agreements to continue as independent entrepreneurs. The results showed that entrepreneurial expectations often do not align with actual outcomes, and key success factors and challenges vary depending on the business model. Independent entrepreneurs frequently highlight greater freedom and autonomy but higher risks, while franchisees emphasize the importance of branding, support, and an established business model, with reduced risks. Entrepreneurs why transitioned from franchising to independent business underscore the importance of strategic market adaptation and key lessons learned in human resource and financial management. Our conclusion emphasizes the importance of understanding the challenges presented by both models for prospective entrepreneurs. Further research is recommended to provide deeper insights into the long-term successes and challenges of entrepreneurial ventures

    Creating the image of Taylor Swift through selected albums and related media content

    Ovaj završni rad analizira izgradnju i transformaciju javnog imidža glazbene umjetnice Taylor Swift kroz albume Reputation (2017.) i Folklore (2020.). Cilj rada bio je istražiti na koji način Swift koristi retoričke i vizualne strategije kako bi oblikovala vlastitu javnu personu u skladu s promjenama u društvenom kontekstu i očekivanjima publike Istraživačko pitanje glasi: Na koji način Taylor Swift koristi glazbene i vizualne alate za redefiniranje vlastitog javnog imidža? Korištena je kvalitativna metodologija, uključujući retoričku analizu tekstova pjesama i analizu vizualnih elemenata poput omota albuma, glazbenih spotova i komunikacije na društvenim mrežama. Rezultati pokazuju da je Reputation korišten kao alat redefiniranja percepcije kroz motive kontrole i otpora, dok Folklore komunicira introspektivnost, emocionalnu autentičnost i pripovjedački pristup. Zaključeno je da Taylor Swift kroz svoj umjetnički izraz i komunikaciju uspješno oblikuje vlastiti javni imidž, što se može promatrati kao oblik strateškog brendiranja.This final thesis explores the construction and transformation of the public image of music artist Taylor Swift through a rhetorical and visual analysis of her albums Reputation (2017) and Folklore (2020). The aim of this research is to investigate how Swift strategically uses communication tools to adapt and redefine her public persona in response to shifting media narratives and audience expectations. The research question posed is: How does Taylor Swift use musical and visual elements to shape and control her public image? The study applies a qualitative approach, combining rhetorical analysis of song lyrics with visual content analysis, including album covers, music videos, and social media posts. The findings show that Reputation functions as a vehicle for reclaiming narrative control through themes of power and resistance, while Folklore introduces a more introspective and emotionally resonant identity. It can be concluded that Swift combines artistic expression with strategic communication to create a coherent and recognizable public brand

    Analysis of language in advertising spots on selected examples

    Ovaj rad istražuje dinamičan i slojevit jezik televizijskih reklama u automobilskoj industriji, s fokusom na korištenje jezičnih strategija za privlačenje pažnje gledatelja i oblikovanje percepcije automobilskih proizvoda. U kontekstu globalizacije i sve većeg utjecaja engleskog jezika, integracija anglizama u reklamne poruke postala je posebno istaknuta u ovom sektoru. Istraživanje analizira prisutnost i funkciju anglizama i personifikacije u odabranih 12 reklamnih spotova popularnih marki automobilske industrije. Cilj je ovoga rada kroz deskriptivnu retoričku i komparativnu analizu doprinijeti boljem razumijevanju specifičnog jezika koji se koristi u reklamama automobila i njegovom utjecaju na percepciju brenda među gledateljima. Rezultati pokazuju da se anglizmi najčešće koriste u opisima tehničkih elemenata i opreme, čime se ukazuje na implementaciju modernih rješenja i sustava za bolju, sigurniju i udobniju vožnju te se tako privlači široka publika. Osim toga, anglizmi se pojavljuju u nazivima automobila, sloganima i marketinškim elementima, naglašavajući njihovu ulogu u promociji inovacija i tehnološkog napretka. Personifikacija, iako rjeđa, igra značajnu ulogu u stvaranju emocionalne povezanosti između potrošača i vozila, prikazujući automobile kao pouzdane partnere, a ne samo kao sredstva za prijevoz. Rad naglašava da su anglizmi važna i često korištena strategija u automobilskoj reklami, učinkovito angažirajući potrošače i učvršćujući percepciju brendova kao inovativnih i emocionalno rezonantnih. Rezultati ističu važnost jezika u oblikovanju učinkovitosti oglašavanja i ponašanja potrošača na konkurentnom automobilskom tržištu.This thesis explores the dynamic and multilayered language of television advertisements in the automotive industry, focusing on the use of language strategies to capture viewers' attention and shape perceptions of automotive products. In the context of globalization and the increasing influence of the English language, the integration of anglicisms into advertising messages has become particularly prominent in this sector. The thesis analyzes the presence and function of anglicisms and personification in a selection of 12 commercials from popular automotive brands. Through descriptive rhetorical and comparative analysis, this thesis aims to contribute to a better understanding of the specific language used in automotive advertisements and its impact on brand perception among viewers. The results show that anglicisms are most frequently used in the descriptions of technical elements and equipment, highlighting the implementation of modern solutions and systems for better, safer, and more comfortable driving, thereby attracting a wide audience. Additionally, anglicisms appear in car names, slogans, and marketing elements, emphasizing their role in promoting innovation and technological advancement. Personification, although less common, plays a significant role in creating an emotional connection between consumers and vehicles, portraying cars as reliable partners rather than just means of transportation. Thesis emphasizes that anglicisms are an important and frequently used strategy in automotive advertising, effectively engaging consumers and reinforcing the perception of brands as innovative and emotionally resonant. The results underscore the importance of language in shaping advertising effectiveness and consumer behavior in the competitive automotive market

    Ovaj završni rad fokusira se na digitalizaciju i upravljanje resursima u poslovnom okruženju. U uvodu se istražuje važnost ove teme u suvremenom poslovanju. Prikazane su ključne komponente digitalizacije, uključujući ulogu aplikacija za praćenje i nadzor poslovnih procesa te upravljanje informatičkom opremom. Sustavno upravljanje opremom obuhvaća označavanje, prioritetizaciju, implementaciju sustava za praćenje, korištenje softvera za upravljanje te redovno održavanje opreme uz prikupljanje i analizu podataka. U nastavku, prikazana su odabrana rješenja koja se razmatraju za implementaciju, uključujući Endpoint Central, Atera i Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Nakon analize, donesena je odluka o implementaciji Endpoint Central sustava. U zaključku, istaknuta je važnost pravilnog upravljanja resursima putem digitalizacije u suvremenom poslovnom okruženju, ističući postignute koristi kroz implementaciju Endpoint Central sustava.The final thesis focuses on digitization and resource management in the business environment. The introduction explores the importance of this topic in modern business practices. Key components of digitization are presented, including the role of applications for monitoring and supervising business processes, as well as managing IT equipment. Systematic equipment management encompasses labeling, prioritization, implementation of tracking systems, utilization of management software, and regular maintenance of equipment, along with data collection and analysis. Subsequently, selected solutions for implementation are presented, including Endpoint Central, Atera,and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Following the analysis, a decision was made to implement the Endpoint Central system. In conclusion, the importance of proper resource management through digitization in the contemporary business environment is emphasized, highlighting the benefits achieved through the implementation of the Endpoint Central system
