Art appreciation of the Malaysia independence day logo 2020
From the perception of Art Appreciation, requires two main aspects, namely formalistic and content.
These two aspects come together to form a work of art. The logo is one of the results of art in the form
of digital art that are always used in graphic design. This paper is conducted to identify the visual
characteristic of the Malaysian Independence Day logo. Researchers only chose Independence Day for
the year 2020 to be analyzed because it is the logo for the current year and is the latest logo design
created compared to the previous two years using the same logo. To achieve the purpose, this method
of this study is qualitative, which is to use the study of art appreciation evaluation analysis in the
context of form and content. It clearly shows the formalistic aspects used in translating the literal and
implicit meanings in the Independence Day 2020 logo. This logo features various artistic elements of
art and principles of design, as described in this study. It also gives sense to the events that took place
during the year. This study has combined the theoretical aspects of Formalistic art with graphic design
that is the study of the Independence Day logo. A logo can be considered successful if all sections of society understand it. This logo is created every year, according to the theme and identity of the
country. The logo design refers to the symbolism of a multiracial society that is pluralistic and dignified
the culture in this country. Through the analysis that has been made, the creation of the Independence
Day 2020 logo can be accepted because the logo is simple and easy to understand by the community.
The use of the right logo can change people's perception of something
Combination of contracts in Islamic finance practices in light of hadith on prohibition of ‘two contracts in one contract’ (Bay’atan fi Bay’ah): A shari’ah investigation
To cater the dramatic changes in market demands, Islamic financial institutions supply various
types of Islamic financial products and services. Some of them are categorized as a hybrid in
nature, which combines more than one contract. Essentially this would be assumed to trigger
the shari’ah compliant issue because, in more than one narration, the Prophet (SW) prohibits
the combination of two contracts in a single agreement. As reported in many sources, the
Prophet (SW) prohibited two sales in one sale (bay’atan fi bay’ah) and two agreements in one
agreement (safqatan fi safqah). Also, he prohibited the combination of sale and loan contracts
(bay’ wa salaf) in a single arrangement. Thus, this study investigates the shari’ah status of
Islamic financial hybrid products in light of these prophetic narrations. This study is qualitative,
and a method of document analysis, both classical and contemporary, has been followed to
achieve the study's objective. The study concludes that the combination of more than one
contract in a single arrangement is not prohibited in general; it shall be subject to the nature
and essence of the contracts instead. A combination of partnership with the lease contract is
not prohibited as both contracts are not inconsistent with each other. While a combination of a
loan contract with another contract that begets benefit for the loan is not permissible as such
combination converts the arrangement into a usurious transaction
Role of design and innovation to enhance new product development among Malaysian small and medium manufacturing enterprises (SMEs)
The role of design and innovation through NPD process can be a good platform for Malaysian SMEs to
enhance their competitiveness. However, less study has been conducted to examine how the process
has been implemented by SMEs. NPD process requires a proper planning and commitment from the
company. Managing the NPD process by utilized design as a source of innovation will improve the
quality of the product. But, many of the SMEs not utilize the potential of design and innovation as their
sources to gain competitiveness. Therefore, there are gaps on how the process has been conducted by
SMEs such as how they implementing, managing and who are the parties should be involved in the
process. The objective of this paper is to explore the process of new product development conducted
by small and medium manufacturing industries (SMEs) through design and innovation in creating
added value to a product, based on an empirical study covering product, furniture, and automotive
manufacturing industries in Malaysia. A mixed-method was applied consist of 450 respondents for
questionnaire survey and 12 selected participants from different group's namely industrial designers marketers, and decision-makers. The results reveal the positive effects of managing design and
innovations in the industries are important to improve product value and to enhance company
performance through product development processes
E-government and e-commerce issues in Malaysia
In Malaysia , an e - commerce company is still considered a new middleman. As well as the
development of information and communication technology strongly affects business companies at
the present time in terms of management, business strategies, production, sales and marketing, and
other aspects that underpin business profitability in general. E - commerce , known as e -
commerce , refers to a general term for a commercial activity using modern technologies, or a
commercial transaction that includes the exchange of data via electronic frameworks, especially the
Internet, as well as many modern systems used in personal computers, smart phones, etc. It is not just
limited to doing business between companies but also related to online services between governments
and individuals. Various investigations related to e - commerce have identified obstacles related to
information technology (IT) organization, internet use, financial situation, government and
administrative activities as important determinants of doing business online. Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) has revolutionized businesses around the world. In this paper, e -
commerce practices in Malaysia are analyzed by their characteristics, drawbacks, openings and
risks. This paper provides a general review of the current issues considered by e - commerce
organizations today. It also suggests the challenges and problems facing e - commerce companies at
the present time and how to solve them using e - commerce concepts
A survey on product promotion via e-commerce platforms - case study in Malaysia
A survey by Malaysian Communication and
Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has shown that Internet
users in Malaysia has increased up to 88.7% in year 2020
compared to 76.9% in year 2016 which is quite high increase
in percentage. The pervasive use of smartphones and
computers nowadays as well as the availability of high-speed
Internet access has brought a new way of promoting
products. E-commerce is a buy and sell system that can be
accessed globally around the world. This system can provide
efficient strategies for promoting products and services. It is
widely agreed that even small enhancements in promotion
techniques can increase the profitability of any e-commerce
system. In this paper, a research has been conducted to study
methods to enhance product promotion among Malaysians.
The study investigates through a survey the factors affecting
users’ WTP (willing-to-pay) during performing e-commerce
transaction as well as factors what attract/repel them more.
To achieve the study aim, a group of 385 respondents
throughout Malaysia have been involved in this research
through questionnaire study. Detailed analysis has been
introduced to clarify the results. The study has identified the
top e-commerce platforms that are used by Malaysians to
execute product promotion. The results show that
promotion through e-commerce platforms could increase
profitability and help businesses to expand rapidly. This is
due to the fast market penetration of online promoting
compared to conventional one
Malay rejection on elimination of all forms of racial discrimination
After the change of the new government on last year on 14th General Election
in May 2018, Malaysia is facing with a new administration, ideas and form of
government after sixty years in the hand of previous government called as the Barisan
Nasional (BN). After given the mandate by the Malaysian, the new government under the
role of Pakatan Harapan (PH) wanted to ratify the international convention known as
International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination
(ICERD) under the United Nation (UN) that promotes states to eliminate all form of
discrimination in the government ruling. However, the ratification of ICERD has created
major wrath of the Malays and Bumiputras due to inconsistency in certain aspects of
special privilege and rights of the Malays and Bumiputras embedded in Article 153 of the
Constitutions. ICERD imply negatively to the ‘Social Contract’, Islam as the national
religion of the state and the constitutional monarchy system in Malaysia. This can be sum
up as the effort of the Malay to protect its ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ as their identity. This
paper is meant to study the pros and cons of the ICERD towards the people and also to
analyze the reactions of the Malays especially towards the ICERD issues
Physicochemical properties of peking duck skin gelatin extracted using acid pretreatment (ADS) or mixed alkaline-acid pretreatment (ALDS)
Duck skin is the by-product of duck meat production, and it is a readily available source of gelatin that may serve as an
alternative to gelatin made from pigs and cows. In this study, the physicochemical properties of Peking duck skin
gelatin were assessed. Duck skin gelatin was extracted using acid pretreatment (ADS) or mixed alkaline-acid
pretreatment (ALDS). The extraction yield of ALDS (1.95%) was significantly higher than that of ADS (1.33%), and the
recovery of protein of ALDS was 46.47% compared to 43.77% for ADS. The bloom value of ADS (364.10 g) was
significantly higher than that of ALDS (205.13 g) and commercial type B bovine gelatin (BG, 224.20 g). The high
bloom value of ADS and medium bloom value of ALDS mean that they can be used in many food applications. The
hydroxyproline content of ADS (13.84 g/100 g) also was significantly higher than that of ALDS (10.25 g/100 g) and BG
(12.87 g/100 g). The pH of ADS and BG (5.31 and 4.90, respectively) did not differ significantly, whereas the pH of
ALDS was 8.34. Viscosity values of ADS and ADLS were 13.51 and 12.35 mPas, respectively, which were significantly
higher than that of BG (3.62 mPas). Overall, these results show that duck skin is a potential raw material for gelatin
production, as it has a high bloom value and is readily available in Malaysia
Earth's geomagnetic response to solar wind changes associated with solar events at low latitude regions at the TRE MAGDAS station
The Sun's magnetic activity influences disturbances that perturb interplanetary space by producing
large fluxes of energetic protons, triggering geomagnetic storms and affecting the ground geomagnetic
field. The effect of two solar events, namely Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) and Coronal Holes, on
geomagnetic indices (SYM/H), solar wind parameters and ground geomagnetic fields has provided
magnetic ground data, which were extracted from the Terengganu (TRE, -4.21 N, 175.91 E)
Magnetometer (MAGDAS) station, and investigated in this study. Results show that the physical
dynamic mechanism in the Earth's magnetosphere is triggered by various solar wind parameters
associated with CMEs and Coronal hole events during the minimum solar cycle of 24 at low latitudes. It
is important to study solar wind-magnetosphere coupling because it has an impact on ground-based
technological systems and human activities
