Here we present the approximately 4.6-Mbp draft genome sequence of strain LSJC7.</span

    人工湿地作为一种绿色生态、低成本的污水处理技术,其应用日渐广泛。随着应用和机理研究的深入,传统湿地在运行过程中也涌现出各种问题。本文总结了近几年来人工湿地污水处理所出现的堵塞、脱氮效率低、污染负荷小、受温度影响大等问题,综述了国内外学者针对这些问题采取的内部系统强化、工艺改进以及与其他工艺类型组合等措施,并对今后人工湿地技术的发展方向进行探讨

    <p>Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent organic contaminant and has been widely detected in the sea water. However, toxic effects of PFOS on cardiac development in marine organisms have not been reported. In the present study, we investigated the toxicity of PFOS on the cardiac development using Oryzias melastigma embryos. The embryos at 2 days post-fertilization (dpf) were continuous exposed to PFOS (1, 4 and 16mg/L) for various periods, cardiac function and morphology were examined at different developmental stages. The results showed that exposure to 4 and 16mg/L PFOS resulted in enlarged the sinus venosus (SV)-bulbus arteriosus (BA) distance and altered the heart rate. We further investigated eight heart-development related genes to test the effects of PFOS on molecular level. Seven genes were first cloned in O. melastigma and their temporal expression patterns were assayed. Most of the genes were highly expressed in the 6dpf, which is the critical stage for heart development. Their expression levels upon PFOS exposure were studied. The expressions of GATA4 and NKX2.5 were significantly down-regulated while COX-2, FGF8 and ATPase were significantly up-regulated at 6dpf. Our results showed for the first time that PFOS exposure affected the expression of cardiac development-related genes, development and function of heart in the marine medaka.</p

    泉州郊区春节燃放烟花时段空气污染特征

    研究了泉州郊区2009年春节燃放烟花期间空气污染特征.采用在线监测和中流量采样器对该时段气溶胶进行了颗粒物实时监测和采集.目的是阐明泉州郊区燃放烟花期间大气中颗粒物、多环芳烃(PAHs)和水溶性离子的浓度及分布特征,探讨其污染物的来源.结果表明,除夕00:57~01:27为颗粒物浓度受燃放烟花影响最大时段,PM2.5和PM10浓度30 min平均值高达1102.43&mu;g&middot;m-3和1610.22&mu;g&middot;m-3.除夕燃放烟花前后气相和颗粒相中多环芳烃的浓度最高达到54.18 ng&middot;m-3和47.10ng&middot;m-3,明显高于春节前后正常时段PAHs的浓度,但根据PAHs的诊断参数判断,泉州郊区PAHs主要以燃煤、生物质燃烧和柴油机动车的混合局地源污染为主.水溶性离子的数据结果说明,烟花燃放是春节期间水溶性离子浓度升高的主要原因.烟花燃放、燃煤和机动车辆尾气排放的污染气体NOx和SO2则是二次污染物NO 3-和SO42-形成的前驱物的主要来源

    Retrieving land surface temperature from Landsat TM using different atmospheric products as ancillary data

    <p>Land surface temperature (LST) is one of the most important variables associated with the main land surface processes. Previous researches demonstrated the atmospheric heterogeneity at regional scale and advocated that it is vital to get atmospheric parameters properly to retrieve LST precisely by using satellite remote sensing, especially for sensors provided with one thermal infrared channel (e.g. Landsat TM/ETM+). In this paper, MODIS standard atmospheric products (MOD 05 and MOD 07) were selected primarily due to its proximate passing over time to Landsat TM and its relatively high spatial resolution, compared with other ones. Different types of the total atmospheric water vapour (AWV) content were extracted from MOD 05 and MOD 07. At the same time, an interpolating procedure was proposed to estimate the land surface air temperature from MOD 07 air temperature profile. Then these parameters' performances were test in improving the accuracy of LST retrieved from the TM thermal band by means of the single-channel algorithm and the mono-window algorithm respectively, followed by discussions on LST validation processes. The validation results suggest that different atmospheric products and the interpolated parameters are useful for obtaining LST accurately from the single thermal band when local soundings are not available. In particular, the AWV content estimated from the near infrared (NIR) data, stored in MOD 05 provided relatively more accurate LST results when it was input into the single-channel algorithm with the root mean square error (RMSE) is about 1.3K. However, it is not within the scope of this study to find a superior retrieval method. At last, several issues related to the MODIS standard atmospheric products were suggested to be resolved, to enable more scientific and practical uses of this kind of products for atmospheric correction.</p><p>&nbsp;</p

    A Role for Microbial Palladium Nanoparticles in Extracellular Electron Transfer

    Insights into extracellular electron transfer of microorganisms are important for the understanding of electron transport pathways in bioelectrochemical systems (e.g. biological fuel cells and microbial electrolysis cells), as well as for biogeochemical cycles, biocorrosion and bioremediation[1-7]. Two principal mechanisms for extracellular electron transfer have been proposed: i) electroactive metabolites/secretions serve as mediators in an indirect electron transfer process; ii) electrons transfer directly from the cells to the electrodes via either membrane cytochromes or electrically conductive pili &ndash; the latter process has been defined in a termed direct electron transfer (DET) and has recently been the subject of intense study[3&ndash;7]. It is well known that several microbes are capable of transforming a range of metal ions/minerals into nanoparticles that are bound into the cell membrane. However, little is understood about the role of such metallic nanoparticles in the physiological electron transfer processes, and important questions remain regarding the details of the mechanisms involved

    Facile synthesis and catalytic properties of single crystalline β-MnO2 nanorods

    Single-crystalline &beta;-MnO2 nanorods were successfully synthesized through facile reflux treatment of KMnO4 and MnSO4 in HNO3 solution. TEM and SEM images show that the synthesized &beta;-MnO2 nanorods exhibited diameters of 20&ndash;50 nm, and lengths that ranged from approximately 0.5 to 2.0 &mu;m with decreasing HNO3 concentrations from 0.8 to 0.1 mol/L. The &beta;-MnO2 nanorods underwent three primary evolutionary stages over time. They exhibited excellent catalytic properties for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) by a Fenton-like reaction
