Genetske modifikacije pamuka - sadašnje stanje i budućnost

U ovom završnom radu dan je pregled uzgoja genetski modificiranog pamuka, s osvrtom na sadašnje stanje i njegovu budućnost. U Europskoj uniji je do prosinca 2018. godine izdano ukupno 111 odobrenja za korištenje genetskih modifikacija kod pet biljnih vrsta (pamuk, kukuruz, uljana repica, soja i šećerna repa). Također, Europska unija je do prosinca 2018. godine izdala odobrenja i za 12 sorti pamuka namijenjenih ishrani ljudi i životinja, kao i za dobivanje različitih proizvoda od pamuka koji imaju drugu namjenu pored ishrane, izuzev uzgoja. Pri tome jedna sorta pamuka ima otpornost na herbicide i uz to ugrađen selekcioni marker, dvije sorte imaju otpornost na određene insekte iz reda Lepidoptera i ugrađene selekcione markere, jedna sorta pamuka ima kombinaciju otpornosti na određene insekte iz reda Lepidoptera zahvaljujući ugrađenom cry1Ac genu, kao i na herbicid glifosat zahvaljujući cp4 epsps genu, tri sorte pamuka imaju samo otpornost na herbicide i sl. Obzirom na činjenicu da se na temu genetski modificiranih organizama (GMO) vode dugotrajne rasprave oko njihovog utjecaja na zdravlje ljudi u ovom radu nastojati će se što realnije i detaljnije sagledati prednosti i nedostatke genetski modificiranog pamuka

RENEISSANCE WOMENS FASHION AS INSPIRATION FOR CREATION OF FEMALE COURT FOOL COSTUME

U diplomskom radu analizirana je ženska moda u razdoblju renesanse, od osnovnih dijelova ženskog odjevnog ansambla do promjena istih tokom svih godina ovog stilskog razdoblja. Sagledani su trendovi karakteristični za određena geografska područja, evolucija trendova tokom cijelog razdoblja renesanse te razlike mode ovisno o staležu pomoću umjetničkih prikaza i analize preživjelih ili rekreiranih odjevnih predmeta. Također proučena je povijest dvorskih luda, od njihovih početaka do samog kraja njihovog postojanja. Njihov utjecaj na društvo i njihovo povijesno nasljeđe. Za istraživanje ove tematike koristiti će se slike tog perioda, savjetovanje knjiga te istraživački i znanstveni online članci. Uz pomoć takve analize u kreativnom tj. izvedbenom dijelu rada prikazati ću izradu kostima dvorske lude inspirirane ženskim kostimom renesanse. Od prvotnog moodboarda do konačnog kostima.The thesis analyzes women's fashion during the Renaissance, from the basic components of the female clothing ensemble to the changes in them throughout the years of this stylistic period. Trends characteristic of certain geographical areas were examined, the evolution of trends throughout the entire Renaissance period, and differences in fashion depending on social class through artistic representations and analysis of surviving and recreated garments. The history of court jesters was also studied, from their beginnings to the very end of their existence. Their influence on society and their historical legacy. To research this theme, images from that period, consulting books, and research and scientific online articles will be used With the help of such an analysis, in the creative, i.e., practical part of the work, I will present the creation of costumes for a female court jester inspired by women's costumes from the Renaissance. HELLE JONGERIUS' WORK AS A STARTING POINT IN THE CREATION OF TEXTILE COLLAGES

U diplomskom radu istražit će se opus umjetničkog i dizajnerskog rada Helle Jongerius, renomirane nizozemske industrijske dizajnerice i umjetnice koja se proslavila svojim inovativnim pristupom u navedenim područjima, fokusirajući se na njezin doprinos u području tekstila. Predstavit će se kolaž kao likovna tehnika, povijest tehnike i primjeri iz područja umjetnosti te na koji se način koristi kolaž tehnika u suvremenome dizajnu i njegove važnosti za tekstilnu umjetnost. Posebno u stvaranju slojevitih, teksturiranih i trodimenzionalnih površina. Bit će dan pregled aktualnih umjetnika u području tekstila. Eksperimentalno dizajnerski dio diplomskog rada sadržavat će moodboard, kolekciju radova u tehnici tekstilnog kolaža te finalni rad u velikome formatu inspiriran navedenom dizajnericom.The thesis will explore the work of artistic and design work of Hella Jongerius, a renowned Dutch industrial designer and artist who became famous for her innovative approach in the mentioned fields, focusing on her contribution in the field of textiles. Collage as an art technique, the history of the technique and examples from the field of art will be presented, as well as how the collage technique is used in contemporary design and its importance for textile art. Especially in the creation of layered, textured and three-dimensional surfaces. An overview of current artists in the field of textiles will be given. The experimental design part of the thesis will contain a mood board, a collection of works in the textile collage technique, and a final work in a large format inspired by the mentioned designer

From song to creation: Lana Del Rey as a source of inspiration

Ovaj završni rad prezentira rad američke pjevačice Lane Del Rey kroz albume koje je uspjela stvoriti kroz zadnjih 14 godina. Iako sažeto ima prepoznatljiv vizualni i zvukovni identitet, kroz rad se detaljno prezentiraju razlike u albumima i vizualima kroz godine što itekako doprinosi naknadnom kreativnom radu. U kreativnom dijelu završnog rada, predstavljena je kolekcija inspirirana opusom pjevačice. Kreacije su inspirirane osobnim dojmom nakon slušanja diskografije. Kolekcija je posebice inspirirana albumima : “Lust for Life“, “Blue Banisters“, “Honeymoon“ i “Ultraviolence“.This final thesis presents the work of the American singer Lana Del Rey through the albums she managed to create over the last 14 years. Although it briefly has a recognizable visual and sound identity, the work presents in detail the differences in albums and visuals over the years, which greatly contributes to the subsequent creative work. In the creative part of the final work, a collection inspired by the singer's oeuvre was presented. The creations are inspired by a personal impression after listening to the discography. The collection is particularly inspired by the albums: "Lust for Life", "Blue Banisters", "Honeymoon" and "Ultraviolence"

Istraživanje odijevanja stanovnika Afrike i njihov utjecaj na suvremeni dizajn, konstrukciju i modeliranje haljine

Istražuju se specifičnosti ornamenata i krojeva odjevnih predmeta afričke kulture, te kako se ta estetika primjenjuje u današnjoj modi i to od strane vrhunskih dizajnera poput Stele McCartney, Marca Jacobsa i drugih. Opisuje se rad afričkih dizajnera koji na temelju tradicije dizajniraju originalne i autentične kolekcije. Autori poput Christie Brown, Brenda Maxhosa Africa i Studia 18 svaki na svoj osebujan način afričku tradicijsku kulturu spajaju sa suvremenim dizajnom. U radu se analiziraju likovni elementi pojedinih afričkih uzoraka na tekstilu te se uspoređuju s uzorcima koje su prisutni u high street modi današnjice. Bogatstvo i raznovrsnost ornamenata i postupci otiskivanja karakteristika su afričkog tekstila dok su krojevi gotovo uvijek svedeni na jednostavnu geometriju. Danas se to mijenja i dizajneri vrlo često pojednostavljuju ornament a kroj čine puno složenijim. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada prikazan je proces stilizacije odabranog afričkog ornamenta i njegova digitalna preobrazba. Ornamenti su izrađeni u tradicionalnoj tehnici batika na platnu te će biti scaniran i multipliciran u programu Adobe ilustrator i Procreate. Dobiveni ornament poslužiti će za izradu tkanine od koje će se dodatno konstruirati i modelirati kroj po uzoru na afričku kulturu te će biti predložena tri modela za proizvodnju

CREATION OF AUTHOR COLLECTION OF TEXTILE PORTRAITS

U diplomskom radu obradit će se tehnike izrade tekstilnih portreta kroz povijest, koje će poslužiti kao inspiracija u kreiranju autorske kolekcije portreta. U teorijskom dijelu rada obradit će se teorija o portretima, stvaralaštvo pojedinih umjetnika koji su izrađivali ili izrađuju portrete s naglaskom na one koji koriste tekstil kao medij za stvaranje istih te opis korištenih tehnika i tekstilnih materijala. Također, obradit će se povijest prvog pojavljivanja i razvoja tekstila u kontekstu njegove primjene u području tekstilne umjetnosti. Eksperimentalni dio rada sastojat će se od autorske kolekcije tekstilnih portreta, uz opis ideja i razvoj koncepta, kao i tehnike izrade te analizu odabranih radova. Za realizaciju autorske kolekcije tekstilnih portreta koristit će se kombinirane tehnike ručnog rada i rada na šivaćem stroju: kombinacija vezenja, šivanja, zračne čipke, tekstilnog tiska i oslikavanja tekstila.The graduation thesis will deal with the techniques of making textile portraits throughout history, which will serve as inspiration in creating an author's collection of portraits. In the theoretical part of the paper, the theory of portraits, the creativity of individual artists who created or create portraits with an emphasis on those who use textiles as a medium for their creation, and a description of the techniques and textile materials used will be discussed. Also, the history of the first appearance and development of textiles in the context of its application in the field of textile art will be covered. The experimental part of the work will consist of the author's collection of textile portraits, along with a description of ideas and concept development, as well as production techniques and analysis of selected works. For the realization of the author's collection of textile portraits, combined techniques of handwork and work on a sewing machine will be used: a combination of embroidery, sewing, aerial lace, textile printing and textile painting

Development of Multifunctional Fire-Resistant Fabric for Dual Use, Results of the IRI II Project KK.01.2.1.02.0064

Ova znanstvena monografija objedinjuje rezultate istraživačkog projekta „Razvoj multifunkcionalne negorive tkanine za dualnu namjenu“, provedenog u suradnji znanstvene institucije Sveučilišta u Zagrebu Tekstilno-tehnološkog fakulteta i gospodarske institucije Čateks d.d. Ona svjedoči o značajnom iskoraku u području tekstilne tehnologije, spajajući tradiciju kvalitete, izvrsnosti i inovacija s vizijom održivog razvoja i tržišne konkurentnosti. Monografija je rezultat trogodišnjeg intenzivnog istraživanja i suradnje stručnjaka iz znanstvenog i gospodarskog tekstilnog sektora, objedinjujući teorijski i praktični doprinos svih sudionika projekta. Sadržaj nudi detaljan uvid u sve faze projekta – od istraživačkih postavki, razvoja prototipa, laboratorijskih testiranja do faze predkomercijalizacije gotovog proizvoda. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na interdisciplinarni pristup, inovativna rješenja usmjerena prema potrebama i vojnog i civilnog sektora, s posebnim fokusom na toplinsku zaštitu i udobnost. Monografija nudi temeljit prikaz istraživačkih, inženjerskih i industrijskih postupaka koji su omogućili postizanje postavljenih ciljeva. Razvoj novih multifunkcionalnih tkanina visoke vrijednosti, koje odgovaraju na izazove globalnog tržišta, ostvaren je korištenjem naprednih materijala za razvoj zaštitne odjeće koja zadovoljava širok raspon funkcionalnih zahtjeva. Dokumentirajući kompleksne procese istraživanja, planiranja i izvedbe, publikacija predstavlja trajni doprinos znanstvenoj zajednici i industriji. Posebna vrijednost ove monografije leži u potencijalu za daljnji transfer znanja i tehnologije. Uz to, projekt je istaknuo važnost korištenja sredstava iz europskih fondova za poticanje inovacija i jačanje globalne konkurentnosti hrvatskog tekstilnog sektora.This scientific monograph compiles the results of the research project "Development of Multifunctional Fire-Resistant Fabric for Dual Use", conducted in collaboration between the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology and the industrial institution Čateks d.d. It represents a significant step forward in the field of textile technology, merging a tradition of quality, excellence, and innovation with a vision of sustainable development and market competitiveness. The monograph is the result of three years of intensive research and collaboration between experts from both the scientific and industrial textile sectors, integrating theoretical and practical contributions from all project participants. Its content provides a detailed insight into all phases of the project—from research foundations, prototype development, and laboratory testing to the pre-commercialization phase of the final product. Special emphasis is placed on an interdisciplinary approach and innovative solutions tailored to the needs of both the military and civilian sectors, with a particular focus on thermal protection and comfort. The monograph offers a comprehensive overview of the research, engineering, and industrial processes that enabled the achievement of the project’s objectives. The development of new high-value multifunctional fabrics, designed to meet the challenges of the global market, has been realized through the use of advanced materials for protective clothing that fulfills a wide range of functional requirements. THE INFLUENCE OF PUNK AND GLAM ROCK ON MAINSTREAM FASHION AND DESIGNING A PERSONAL FASHION COLLECTION

Diplomski rad Utjecaj punka i glam rocka na mainstream modu i oblikovanje autorske modne kolekcije bavi se proučavanjem odjevnih i dekorativnih elemenata u punk i glam rock supkulturi, te njihovog utjecaja na popularnu modu. U radu se ističe problematika društva 80-ih godina 20. stoljeća, koja utječe na estetski izgled pripadnika pojedinih skupina. Koristeći radikalne prakse oblikovanja odjeće po uzoru na ove dvije supkulture, kreira se autorska modna kolekcija. Kolekcija Mainstream Identity spaja antimodne tehnike realizacije odjeće i mainstream odjevne oblike u svrhu stvaranja estetski privlačne odjeće koja je u trendu. Cilj kolekcije je istaknuti prisutnost antimodnih elemenata u popularnoj modi 21. stoljeća kroz stvaranje novih odjevnih predmeta od klasičnih supkulturnih dekorativnih oblika.Master’s thesis The Influence of Punk and Glam Rock on Mainstream Fashion and Designing a Personal Fashion Collection focuses on the study of clothing and decorative elements in the punk and glam rock subcultures and their influence on popular fashion. The paper highlights social issues of the 1980s, which affected the aesthetic appearance of certain groups. By employing radical clothing design practices inspired by these two subcultures, a fashion collection is created. The collection Mainstream identity combines anti-fashion techniques with mainstream clothing forms to create aesthetically appealing, trend-forward garments. The goal of the collection is to emphasize the presence of anti-fashion elements in 21st. century popular fashion by creating new garments from classic subcultural decorative forms

TEXTILE SCULPTURES AS A FIELD OF RESEARCH AND AN INCENTIVE FOR THE CREATION OF TEXTILE FORMS FOR PUBLIC SPACES

Unutar diplomskog rada obrađuje se pojam skulptura i eksperimentalnog tekstila. Navode se razlike između tradicionalnog i eksperimentalnog tekstila, kao i što sve eksperimentalni tekstili mogu biti. Kroz više tema obrađuje se pojam plastičnih materijala, te se opisuju poznate eksperimentalne “tople tehnike“. Istaknute su značajne umjetnice koje plastične materijale tretiraju kao tekstil i pretvaraju ih u skuplture, a to su: Wendy Moyer, Beverly Barkat i Helen O'Shea. Materijal se transformira nekonvencionalnim metodama u “nove" materijale, kroz tri inovativne tehnike: fuzija plastičnih vrećica, taljenje netkanog tekstila i “plastifikacija“ tekstilnog materijala.This Master thesis addresses the concept of sculptures and experimental textiles, outlining the key distinctions between traditional and experimental textiles, as well as the diverse forms experimental textiles can take. The exploration includes an in-depth discussion of plastic materials, with a focus on renowned experimental "heat techniques." Prominent artists, such as Wendy Moyer, Beverly Barkat, and Helen O'Shea, who treat plastic materials as textiles and transform them into sculptures, are highlighted. The transformation of these materials through unconventional methods into "new" materials is examined through three innovative techniques: plastic bag fusion, melting of non-woven textiles, and the "plasticization" of textile materials

SIMONE PHEULPIN'S WORK AS INSPIRATION FOR CREATION OF TEXTILE SCULPTURE

Unutar diplomskog rada pod nazivom Rad Simone Pheulpin kao inspiracija za izradu tekstilne skulpture biti će dan pregled umjetničkog rada navedene autorice kroz istraživanje i analizu njenog rada u području tekstilne umjetnosti. Osim navedene autorice biti će dan pregled još nekih važnih suvremenih autora u području tekstilne umjetnice. U eksperimentalnom dijelu diplomskog rada biti će dan prikaz kretivnog procesa od izrade moodboarda, razrada koncepta, izrada kolekcije te realizacije finalne skulpture.Within the thesis, entitled The work of Simone Pheulpin as an inspiration for the creation of textile sculpture, an overview of the artistic work of the aforementioned author will be given through research and analysis of her work in the field of textile art. In addition to the mentioned author, an overview of some other important contemporary authors in the field of textile artist will be given. In the experimental part of the thesis, a description of the creative process will be given, from the creation of a moodboard, the elaboration of the concept, the creation of the collection and the realization of the final sculpture
