Background: Asthma remains a global health burden, marked by recurrent respiratory symptoms that significantly affect quality of life. Non-pharmacological nursing interventions such as deep breathing and semi-Fowler positioning have been increasingly recommended to improve respiratory function in patients with asthma. However, few studies have compared the relative effectiveness of these two interventions within a single experimental framework. Purpose: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of deep breathing exercises and the semi-Fowler position in reducing respiratory rate among asthma patients. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conducted involving 70 asthma patients, divided into two intervention groups: deep breathing (n = 35) and semi-Fowler position (n = 35). Participants were recruited using purposive sampling based on defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data on respiratory rate were collected before and after intervention using direct observation, recorded in breaths per minute. Paired and independent t-tests were used for statistical analysis with a significance level of α < 0.05.Result: In the deep breathing group, the mean respiratory rate decreased significantly from 29.03 ± 2.20 to 18.29 ± 1.56 breaths/minute (mean difference = 10.74; p < 0.001). Similarly, in the semi-Fowler group, the respiratory rate reduced from 28.43 ± 1.98 to 18.29 ± 1.66 breaths/minute (mean difference = 10.14; p < 0.001). However, the post-intervention comparison between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference (p = 1.00).Conclusion: Both deep breathing and semi-Fowler positioning are effective in reducing respiratory rate among asthma patients. These findings suggest that nurses can apply either method based on patient preference and clinical context, supporting individualized, evidence-based respiratory care

Background:. Diarrhea is a health condition characterized by increased frequency and looseness of stool, which can result in dehydration and is potentially fatal, especially in children. According to global data, diarrhea is one of the main causes of death among children under the age of five, with significant death rates occurring in developing countries, including Indonesia Objective: This research aims to analyze the relationship between clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), access to clean water, and the presence of healthy latrines on the incidence of diarrhea in Indonesia. Methods: Using secondary data from the 2019-2023 RI Health Profile using 3 variables, namely PHBS, healthy latrines and clean water taken from data from 34 provinces. This research applies quantitative descriptive methods with statistical analysis. Results: The research results show that poor access to clean water and inadequate sanitation contribute to the high incidence of diarrhea. Even though efforts to increase PHBS have been made, there are still disparities in the implementation of good sanitation practices in various regions. This research also identifies that the presence of healthy latrines is not always directly related to reducing the number of diarrhea. PHBS and consistent use of clean water have a positive impact in reducing the incidence diarrhea. Conclusion: Thus, this research emphasizes the contribution of PHBS, clean water and healthy latrines to the incidence of diarrhea

Background: Practice Of Providing Complementary Breast Milk (PPC-BM) plays an important role in supporting the growth and development of infants aged 6-12 months. WHO and the Indonesian Ministry of Health recommend providing PPC-BM that is timely, nutritious, safe, and meets standards. However, many mothers still face obstacles in providing optimal PPC-BM, especially due to lack of family support. Family support, especially from husbands, grandmothers, and other family members, greatly influences the success of PPC-BM practices. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and complementary feeding practices in infants aged 6-12 months in the Gulai Bancah Health Center working area, Bukittinggi City. Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling technique, with a total of 222 mothers with infants aged 6-12 months as respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that measured family support (emotional, instrumental, information, and assessment) and complementary feeding practices. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test to see the relationship between variables. Conclusion: the results of the study showed that most mothers received family support in the good (54.1%), sufficient (36.0%), and less (9.9%) categories. The practice of providing complementary feeding by mothers was also mostly in the good (58.6%), sufficient (31.5%), and less (9.9%) categories. Statistical tests showed a significant relationship between family support and complementary feeding practices (p-value <0.05). Mothers who receive good family support are more likely to provide appropriate complementary feeding according to WHO and Indonesian Ministry of Health standards. Family support plays a crucial role in determining the success of complementary feeding practices that meet health standards. Suggestion: a family-based education strategy is needed through counseling programs, training of integrated health post cadres, and community-based interventions to increase family involvement in complementary feeding practices. Keywords: Family support, complementary feeding, provision practices, infants aged 6-12 months, pediatric nursing
