    Empowering Sustainable Agriculture in Towua Village, Sulawesi Tenggara: Enhancing Efficiency through Organic Feed Production, Pond Management, and Business Training

    The livelihood of the residents of Towua Village is generally farming, including both pond farming and rice field farming. Towua Village has a pond area of 585.69 hectares used for milkfish farming. Discussions with the village head revealed that the productivity of the community-owned ponds is still very low because they are managed traditionally. This issue also affects the Harapan Jaya Bandeng Farmers Group. One possible solution is to implement or apply technology to help improve the quality of the ponds. The solutions to address the partner's problems include increasing the supply of natural feed through organic farming systems, improving pond management and governance, and providing business management training. These solutions are implemented using a holistic and multidisciplinary research-based approach to achieve farmers' welfare and village economic independence. The method used in this activity is the action research approach. The results of training, assistance, and monitoring of pond quality have led to an 80% increase in partner knowledge, an 80% increase in partner skills, a 60% increase in partner accessibility, and a 50% increase in partner income

    Optimizing Learning at IES Al-Ghuroba Elementary School: The Kampus Mengajar Program in Papua Barat Province

    The Kampus Mengajar program is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia aimed at improving educational quality in the 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost) regions. This study discusses implementing the 7th Kampus Mengajar program at IES Al-Ghuroba Elementary School, Sorong Regency, Papua Barat Daya. The program engaged university students as teaching agents to enhance students' literacy and numeracy skills through activities like 15-minute morning reading sessions, teaching aids in math lessons, and healthy living behavior campaigns. Results indicate significant improvements in student motivation, literacy and numeracy abilities, and social skills. Activities like technology adaptation and library revitalization also helped improve students' technological competencies and fostered a love for reading. Monitoring and evaluation by supervising lecturers and the Papua Barat Education Quality Assurance Agency (Balai Penjamin Mutu Pendidikan or BPMP Papua Barat) highlighted the program's positive impact on educational quality. The program's success underscores the importance of collaboration among students, lecturers, and school stakeholders in creating an enhanced learning environment. Continued support from the government and strengthened technology training is recommended for future program effectiveness

The methods used in Islamic education should adhere to Islamic values to guide and shape students into morally upright individuals. These methods should be grounded in principles derived from the Quran and Hadith. This article aims to explore Islamic educational methods found in the Quran and Hadith, as well as the principles guiding their application. The study identifies several Islamic educational methods, including teaching, dialogue (hiwar), storytelling (qishah), parables (amtsal), role-modeling, habituation, admonition (mau’idzah), reminder, encouragement (targhib), and deterrence (tarhib), all rooted in Islamic teachings. Additionally, it highlights principles such as goal orientation, integration, suitability, truthfulness, flexibility, and dynamism that should guide the application of these methods in Islamic education

    Based on field observations in Sorong Regency, the JKN program, initiated by the government to improve public health, is still not well understood by the community. The purpose of this activity is to introduce and provide information about the JKN program to the community, as well as facilitate their registration and understanding of the program. This activity is carried out through socialization and assistance, where JKN volunteer teams are trained and deployed to help the community with registration and understanding of the JKN program. Training and socialization are conducted through direct visits to the community. After the socialization and assistance activities, the community in Sorong Regency has a better understanding of the JKN program, and more people have registered as JKN participants. The socialization and assistance activities of the JKN program in Sorong Regency have helped the community understand and engage with the program. Although there are still challenges and room for improvement, these activities are crucial to ensure that the community benefits from the JKN program

    This research is motivated by the lack of fulfillment of students' learning needs in classroom activities in grade V at SD Muhammadiyah Noyokerten and the low science learning outcomes on the water cycle material. The general aim of this study is to determine whether a differentiated learning approach based on learning styles can improve science learning outcomes. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. Each cycle is conducted over 2 meetings, comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study are 24 students in grade V. The instruments used include observation sheets, questionnaires, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results of the study show that the differentiated learning approach based on learning styles can improve science learning outcomes

    This community service project, conducted at SDN Kedunghalang 03 Bogor, aimed to educate fifth-grade students about Family Medicinal Plants (Tanaman Obat Keluarga or TOGA). The event, held in the school's auditorium, included presentations, discussions, and interactive games using audiovisual aids, followed by a hands-on planting session. Led by a lecturer and six students from the Bumi Siliwangi Bandung Academy of Pharmacy, the program sought to instill knowledge about the types, benefits, and cultivation methods of medicinal plants. The students' enthusiastic participation highlighted the success of the initiative, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for TOGA. The practical sessions, which involved planting, fertilizing, and caring for medicinal plants, were complemented by demonstrations of how to process these plants into healthy drinks. The program not only enhanced the students' botanical knowledge and practical skills but also promoted environmental stewardship and health awareness within the school community. The involvement of the school principal and teachers further underscored the importance of the initiative, contributing to its overall success and lasting impact

    The Learning Support Program in Tri Tunggal Jaya Village is an initiative to reduce the impact of gadget addiction among children by providing beneficial educational alternatives. This program aims to enhance the academic, social, and emotional abilities of children through interactive learning and a holistic approach. During the program implementation, there was a significant decrease in children's gadget usage, from 5 hours per day to 2 hours per day. Evaluations also indicated a 15% improvement in academic grades and a 70% enhancement in English language proficiency. Moreover, the program successfully increased children's social skills by 75% and led to better emotional development, as reported by parents. The success of the Learning Support Program demonstrates its potential as an effective model in addressing gadget addiction issues in rural communities, emphasizing the importance of holistic education to support the comprehensive growth and development of children

    Question Making Training with LOTS, MOTS, and HOTS Cognitive Levels for High School Teachers

    The current focus among educators is on assessments that promote higher-order thinking skills, enabling students to develop critical, analytical, and systematic thinking, especially in problem-solving, communication, and collaboration. Nonetheless, some teachers still struggle to create questions that effectively target these skills. This service initiative aims to educate 18 instructors from Muhammadiyah Mlati High School on crafting questions that address advanced cognitive abilities. Using a variety of methods, including lectures, interactive Q&A sessions, group discussions, and presentations, the results indicate that the training participants have successfully grasped the basic principles of designing questions for Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in education. After participating in four sessions, they have shown competence in categorizing and structuring questions that span Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), Medium Order Thinking Skills (MOTS), and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)

    An Examination of Policies Addressing Human Trafficking in Tanzania

    Human trafficking remains a pervasive global issue, often hidden under various forms of exploitation, and continues to impact millions worldwide. Frequently termed modern-day slavery, it is a grave violation of human rights with long-lasting, devastating consequences for its victims. Effective policies are crucial in the fight against this inhuman practice, focusing on preventing exploitation, protecting at-risk populations, and delivering justice to victims. In Tanzania, numerous policies and laws have been implemented to combat human trafficking. Despite this robust policy framework, the country remains under Tier II of the U.S. Department of State's Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report, signaling that trafficking persists as a serious concern. This study sought to critically examine the effectiveness of the current policies addressing human trafficking in Tanzania from a qualitative perspective. The findings highlighted that Tanzania has developed a strong and comprehensive policy approach aimed at protecting victims, preventing trafficking, and prosecuting perpetrators. However, while the legal and institutional frameworks are in place, challenges remain in their execution. The efforts to combat human trafficking are hindered by inadequate resources, weak coordination among stakeholders, and gaps in the enforcement of laws. These deficiencies limit the overall impact of Tanzania's anti-trafficking initiatives, allowing the issue to persist despite the country’s commitment. The study underscores the need for improved resource allocation, better coordination mechanisms, and stricter enforcement procedures to fully realize the goals of Tanzania's anti-trafficking policies and effectively reduce the prevalence of this heinous crime
