oai:ojs2.journal-iasssf.com:article/473As a local wisdom agricultural system in Bali, Subak is threatened in maintaining food sovereignty in the Bali region. This is because farmers no longer fully implement the Tri Hita Karana principles in their agricultural systems. Currently, farmers are turning to the Green Revolution agricultural system which has principles that are contrary to those contained in the food sovereignty system. This study aims to determine the extent to which the Green Revolution has degraded the food sovereignty of Subak which applies the values of Tri Hita Karana so that it can identify the root causes of problems and solutions that can be carried out to maintain food sovereignty. This research uses qualitative research design and Life History method to understand various changes that occur in depth. Data collection is done using observation, literature, and conduct direct interviews with three Subaks in Tabanan regency. The results showed a shifting orientation from the human-based agricultural system to capital and technology. The results of this shift degrade the food sovereignty of Subak, especially the rights of farmers as well as environmental and cultural degradation. The Green Revolution did not directly affect Subak's food sovereignty, but the farmers who were influenced by changes brought by the Green Revolution made Subak not sovereign

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted economic and consumer resilience in Indonesia, especially in facing the threat of a global recession. This research explores the relationship between the threat of a post-COVID-19 recession and consumer resilience. Through a qualitative approach with a literature study type and a synthetic analysis approach, this research analyzes 15 scientific works from 2007-2022 obtained from the Google Scholar database. The main findings include the potential threat of recession as indicated by the performance of high inflation reducing consumer purchasing power, declining economic growth in Indonesia -3.49% in 2020, and rising food prices triggering panic buying. Optimistic individual characteristics, adaptability, and financial literacy demonstrate consumer resilience. Preventive and collaborative strategies between government, business, and society are crucial to building strong consumer resilience

This research aims to explore the value of local wisdom in the culture of people in East Java and then analyze its influence on economic development in East Java. The research method uses a qualitative approach in a quantitative part (Concurrent Embedded). The qualitative data collection technique uses interviews with experts supported by literature studies, while the quantitative method uses panel data (38 districts/cities and 2013-2017 data). Data analysis is in the form of Fixed Effect Model (E-GLS) panel regression. The research results show that economic development in East Java can optimize the quality of human resources (IPM), which have intellectual and moral qualities (from Mataraman cultural values). Apart from that, Islamic boarding school cooperatives have also been proven significant at a fundamental level of 0.01 in reducing poverty. However, the quality of cooperatives needs to be of concern to the government regarding members' activeness, skills in managing cooperatives, and other empowerment efforts. Without improving the quality of Islamic boarding school cooperatives, it will impact the increasing rate of inequality in East Java

    Get PDF
Background: economic resilience, defined as the ability of an economy to absorb and recover from shocks, is crucial for sustainable development. This study aims to assess and compare Indonesia's economic resilience with other Asia-Pacific countries in the post-COVID-19 era. Methods: Using Briguglio's theoretical framework, the study evaluates economic resilience through four key dimensions: macroeconomic stability, microeconomic efficiency, governance, and social development. Data from 2019 to 2023 were collected from international sources such as the World Bank, IMF, and UNDP. Finding: The results indicate that Indonesia consistently ranks lower on the Economic Resilience Index (ERI) compared to its regional peers. The country's underperformance is particularly evident in microeconomic efficiency and governance, where it lags behind more resilient economies like Singapore and New Zealand. However, Indonesia has shown gradual improvements in social development indicators, suggesting a positive trend in human capital development. Conclusion: The study highlights the need for Indonesia to implement significant reforms in market regulation, governance, and social infrastructure to enhance its economic resilience. The findings contribute to the broader understanding of economic resilience in the Asia-Pacific region and provide actionable insights for policymakers aiming to strengthen Indonesia's economic stability and sustainability. Novelty: This study is among the first to apply Briguglio's framework to a comparative analysis of economic resilience across Asia-Pacific countries in the post-COVID-19 context, with a specific focus on Indonesia. The research highlights the unique challenges and opportunities for Indonesia in building economic resilience, providing new insights into the specific areas where policy interventions are most needed
