Renaming of Osaka Kawasaki Rehabilitation University to Izumi University

本学は、令和8 年4 月に「大阪河﨑リハビリテーション大学」から「和泉大学」へと大学の名称を変更する。この大学名称の変更は、地域社会と国際社会への貢献を拡大し、リハビリテーション分野を中心とした健康創成社会の構築を目指す決意の表明であり、これまでの20 年間で蓄積した教育・研究成果を基盤とし、リハビリテーション専門職の養成大学から地域に密着した総合的な研究教育機関へと発展するための大学開設20 周年事業の一環である。和泉大学のビジョンは、超高齢社会に対応する健康創成社会の構築を目指し、ウェルビーイングを重視した近未来のリハビリテーション専門職を養成し、リハビリテーション領域の新技術開発や地域資源（例: 機能性食品）の活用を通じ、認知機能の維持や健康寿命の延伸に貢献することであり、データサイエンスを活用した統合的な研究アプローチを強化し、地域および国際社会への貢献を果たすことである。 大阪南部・和歌山地域の自然環境を活用したこれまでの園芸療法の伝統に加えて、食物や機能性食品の研究を推進し、認知予備力の本体を解明し認知症の予防法を開発し、地域行政や産業との連携を深め、産官学の協力による地域活性化を目指す。In April 2026, the university will change its name from Osaka Kawasaki Rehabilitation University to Izumi University. This change of name is a declaration of our commitment to expanding our contribution to the local and international communities and to the creation of a health-creating society centered on the field of rehabilitation. It is also part of the university’s 20th anniversary project to develop from a university that trains rehabilitation professionals to a comprehensive research and educational institution that is rooted in the local community, based on the educational and research activities accumulated over the previous 20 years. The vision of Izumi University is to contribute to the maintenance of cognitive function and the extension of healthy life expectancy through the development of new technologies in the field of rehabilitation and the utilization of local resources （e.g. functional foods）, with the aim of building a society of health creation that responds to the needs of an ultra-aged society, and to train rehabilitation professionals who place importance on wellbeing in the near future, and to strengthen an integrated research approach that utilizes data science, and to contribute to the local and international community.Special Contributionarticl

Novel Teaching Strategies for Basic Seminars in First-Year Education and Student Reactions to Them

初年次の教育が、新入生の不安を軽減し、学修に対する動機づけを高める効果があることが示されている。本学の初年次教育の一つとして基礎ゼミが配置されている。関連施設見学が主なプログラムであるが、各教員が少人数のゼミを担当し、様々な工夫をして学修目標に達するよう指導している。本報告は基礎ゼミで行った指導による学生の学びの変化をアンケートにより把握することを目的とする。講義では、予習・復習といった自己学修を行う時間や場所、内容を具体的にする指導や、『自分はどのような療法士になりたいか。』というテーマで課題設定を行い学生による発表を行った。全8 回の講義後、ウェブによるアンケートを実施した。本報告では、著者が実施した基礎ゼミの内容と受講学生のアンケート結果について紹介する。Reportrepor
