    Get PDF
In order to accurately diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of diseases, it is essential to havemedical images that are stored, analyzed, and transmitted in a manner that is both efficient anddependable. Numerous studies in this sector have concentrated on the utilization of quantumand quantum-inspired algorithms to boost the performance of traditional medical imageprocessing procedures. The model that has been proposed is an mix of quantum-basedalgorithms and algorithms inspired by nature, and it incorporates the more hopeful aspects ofboth types of algorithms. By utilizing the quantum-based binary bat algorithm, also known as q-BBA, the proposed model has been successful in reducing dimensionality, which refers toaspects that are not necessary. QBBA achieved superior results than its conventional algorithms. This was discovered after comparing the performance of QBBA with that of its conventionalmethods. The QBBA algorithm emerges as a notable algorithm due to its enhanced noiseimmunity. The proposed Quantum-based Binary Bat method has the potential to be applied inthe detection of brain tumors

SIAMESE FUSION U-NET FOR FINGER VEIN BIOMETRIC RECOGNITION

    Get PDF
Finger vein recognition (FVR) is a promising biometric modality due to its resistance to spoofing, contactless usage, and lifelong stability. However, reliable recognition remains challenging becausefinger vein images often suffer from low contrast, light scattering, and noise introduced by biologicaltissues. This study proposes a novel deep learning-based framework that jointly enhances segmentationand classification performance through two key innovations. First, introduce Atten-D3Net, anenhanced U-Net variant that integrates dilated fused convolutional layers, depth-wise separable fusedconvolutions, and a spatial attention mechanism to capture fine-grained vein patterns underchallenging imaging conditions. Second, develop the Siamese Cross-Folded Deep Fusion (S-CFDF)network, which leverages cross-attention and weighted loss functions to improve the discrimination ofsubtle inter-class vein variations while reducing misclassification. Preprocessing with CLAHE,histogram equalization, bilateral filtering, and sharpening further improves image clarity. Experimentalevaluations on two public datasets (MMCBNU_6000 and FV) demonstrate the superiority of theproposed system, achieving accuracies of 97.5% and 98.5%, respectively, while reducing computationtime by more than 50% compared to existing baselines. Performance is validated through precision, recall, F1-score, Dice coefficient, and Jaccard index, showing consistent improvements over VGG16,DenseNet, Vision Transformer, and EfficientNet. The results highlight that the combination of Atten-D3Net and S-CFDF enables robust, accurate, and efficient finger vein recognition, offering strongpotential for deployment in secure biometric authentication systems

LINGUISTIC MINIMALISM AND ETHICAL AMBIGUITY: A CORPUS- ASSISTED STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF NARRATIVE VOICE IN SELECTED NOVELS OF J. M. COETZEE

    Get PDF
This study investigates linguistic minimalism and its relationship to ethical ambiguity inselected novels of J. M. Coetzee through a corpus-assisted stylistic framework. While existingscholarship has largely examined Coetzee’s fiction from political, postcolonial, andphilosophical perspectives, limited attention has been paid to the systematic linguistic patternsthat shape his distinctive narrative voice. Addressing this gap, the present research combinesquantitative corpus tools with qualitative close reading to examine lexical density, sentencelength distribution, modality, passive constructions, and patterns of speech representation inWaiting for the Barbarians, Life & Times of Michael K, and Disgrace

The effectiveness of balance and core stabilization training along with conventional therapy on Osteoarthritis knee during eyes open versus eyes closed to improve quality of life

    Get PDF
Introduction: Osteoarthritis of the knee (OA) is a common degenerative joint disease that impairs quality of life, causesdiscomfort, and limits mobility, especially in older persons. While range-of-motion and strengthening exercises are commoncomponents of conventional physiotherapy, they could not adequately treat proprioceptive deficits and balance impairments.Functional results may be improved by core stabilization and balance training, especially when done in different sensorysituations (eyes open vs. closed). Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of core stabilization and balance training in conjunction withtraditional physiotherapy on knee OA patients\u27 pain, functional mobility, balance, and quality of life in both eyes-open and eyes-closed circumstances. Methods: Thirty-six knee OA patients (aged 40–65) were divided into two groups at random: Group A (n = 18) receivedconventional therapy along with balance and core stabilization exercises performed with their eyes open, and Group B (n = 18)received the same exercises with their eyes closed. For six weeks, the interventions were given three days a week for forty-fiveminutes each. The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), the Berg Balance Scale (BBS),the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), and the WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) were among the outcomemeasures that were evaluated at baseline, three weeks, and six weeks. Independent t-tests were used for between-groupcomparisons and one-way ANOVA for within-group comparisons. Results: The NPRS, WOMAC, BBS, and WHOQOL-BREF ratings of both groups improved significantly (p<0.05) over thecourse of six weeks. Group B (eyes closed) outperformed Group A (eyes open) in pain reduction (NPRS), functional ability(WOMAC), balance (BBS), and quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF) by a considerable margin (p<0.05), indicating that eyes-closed training improves proprioceptive and functional abilities. Conclusion: Patients with knee OA see significant improvements in pain, function, balance, and quality of life when corestabilization and balance training are combined with traditional physiotherapy. Due to increased proprioceptive demand, eyes-closed training seems to produce better results, which supports its use in knee OA rehabilitation protocols. Keywords: Knee osteoarthritis, core stabilization, balance training, eyes open, eyes closed, quality of life
