Sustainable Construction: Optimization of Microbial Soil Stabilization for Enhanced Construction Materials
Microbially Induced Calcium Precipitation (MICP) has emerged as an effective and sustainable method for soil stabilization, utilizing microbial processes to enhance soil strength through calcium carbonate formation. This research explores the transformation of Mongu sand into a strong construction material using MICP, with a focus on optimizing urease activity, bacterial concentration, and cementation media. Given the scarcity of rock conglomerates in the region but the abundance of sand, this study provides innovative solutions to address this issue by improving and even transforming materials into more suitable forms for construction. MICP presents significant potential for infrastructure development in areas with limited access to conventional materials, with future efforts aimed at scaling the process for larger and more complex projects. The findings provide insights into the optimal parameters for material transformation, revealing that maintaining urease activity between 10-15 µmol urea hydrolyzed per minute per mg of protein and bacterial concentrations of 1.5 x 10⁸ CFU/mL results in a substantial improvement in compressive strength and durability—up to 475% higher than untreated sand. Additionally, the study underscores the effectiveness of Sporosarcina pasteurii in promoting calcium carbonate precipitation, further emphasizing MICP’s potential for soil stabilization and construction in resource-constrained regions

Determinants of the Social Media Influence on the Consumers’ Travel Decision Making Process
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to ascertain how customers use social media for travel-related decision making at their three stages of the travel namely, pre-travel, during the travel and the post travel decision making.
Design/Methodology/Approach – After analyzing the relevant literature, a quantitative investigation was carried out using structured questionnaire. A questionnaire with identified items in the three stages was used to gather the primary data from the consumers who have used social media for their travel related decision making, and a statistical package was used to analyze the findings.
Findings – A theoretical framework was developed and the developed model was validated by determining the elements influencing social media use for travel-related reasons at the three stages of decision making.
Research Limitations/Implications – The respondents were chosen solely from the state of West Bengal, and the sample was not chosen at random. The study might have a difficulty with generalization, particularly when it comes to marketplaces with significantly distinct cultural traits.
Practical Implications – The study\u27s conclusions might help researchers and industry professionals comprehend social media and Web 2.0 technologies and how they affect customers in their travel related decision making.
Originality/Value – Social media use is one of the main factors influencing consumer behavior and travel marketing in recent years. Understanding these trends and how they affect consumer behavior is crucial because they could affect how travel-related information is distributed and made accessible
Optimization Forward- Fly back converter using MATLAB
This study offers an examination of forward and flyback converters by emphasizing important performance metrics, including power factor, efficiency, offset current, and core loss. Each topology has benefits and disadvantages of its own. A comparative assessment of performance characteristics is carried out through conversation and observation to overcome these constraints. The results suggest that combining both topologies with suitable switching devices, such as MOSFETs with quick switching capabilities, may improve total performance. This paper also looks at a suggested merged forward-flyback converter architecture and shows how it could be used to make a single-stage system more efficient and improve its power factor
The Role of Internal Controls in Optimizing Hospital Capacity and Staffing Efficiency
Hospitals today encounter persistent challenges in maintaining optimal capacity and achieving staffing efficiency, all while striving to deliver high-quality healthcare services. Fluctuating patient volumes, resource constraints, and staffing shortages can significantly impact operational performance and patient outcomes. Internal control systems are crucial in addressing these challenges by promoting efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing overall hospital operations. These systems provide a structured framework for monitoring processes, identifying inefficiencies, mitigating risks, and improving resource allocation.
This study conducts a comprehensive analysis of hospital capacity and staffing data to uncover critical operational gaps and inefficiencies that hinder effective service delivery. Through detailed evaluation, key factors contributing to capacity bottlenecks and staffing imbalances are identified. Based on the findings, the study proposes a set of targeted internal control mechanisms aimed at strengthening hospital management practices. These recommendations include the implementation of real-time capacity monitoring systems, predictive analytics for staffing optimization, automated scheduling tools, and enhanced workforce management protocols.
By integrating these internal control strategies, hospitals can improve operational efficiency, reduce staff burnout, optimize resource utilization, and ultimately enhance the quality of patient care. This research highlights the indispensable role of internal controls in fostering organizational resilience, improving healthcare outcomes, and positioning hospitals for sustainable success in an increasingly complex and dynamic healthcare environment
A Study on the Impact of Snapchat Usage Among Youth in Navi Mumbai: Trends, Influences, and Social Behaviour
Snapchat, a leading platform in ephemeral messaging, has significantly transformed the digital habits of young people around the world. In urban areas like Navi Mumbai, it has evolved beyond being just another social media app—emerging as a powerful tool for self-expression, peer bonding, entertainment, and identity construction. This study explores how youth in Navi Mumbai engage with Snapchat and examines the broader social, psychological, and emotional implications of its use. Using a mixed-method approach through surveys and interviews, the research identifies motivations such as privacy concerns, the desire for authenticity, entertainment needs, and peer pressure. Furthermore, it explores the impact of Snapchat on self-image, social interactions, attention span, and emotional well-being. The research highlights key concerns, including digital dependency, reduced face-to-face communication, and the pursuit of online validation. Practical recommendations are offered for educators, parents, and policymakers to promote healthier, more balanced digital practices among youth
Powder Metallurgy Processed W-Cu Composites: A Microstructural Study
This study assesses the microstructure and elemental concentration of W–Cu composites with fixed ratios of tungsten and copper (W80Cu20, W70Cu30, W60Cu40) using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS). Backscatter electron mapping through SEM shows the dispersion and characteristics of the tungsten and copper-phase carried in the matrix, whereas EDS characterizes semiquantitatively and identifies the W, Cu, C, and O content in the compositions. The distribution of which portrays an increased Cu content as well as reduced W content with increased Cu ratio, with minor carbon and oxygen present, possibly pre-process contamination. The results obtained here are in line with previous works established from this research that SEM and EDS are suitable methods of analyzing phase distribution, homogeneity and elemental composition in W–Cu composites for enhancing the processing parameters and mechanical and functional properties. Thus, the combination of SEM and EDS allows a deep investigation of the influence of the microstructure on the properties of W–Cu composites and accomplishments of their intended aims and tasks in the frame of modern science and engineering

Mitigating Security Threats in IoT Networks Using Big Data Analytics and On-Device Modeling
The rapid increase of IoT devices created the modern digital infrastructures but it has also added crucial security challenges due to the scale and heterogeneity of IOT devices. This paper presents a collaborative security framework model that uses big-data analytics & Hybrid on-device modelling that allows us to address the security threats appearing in an IoT ecosystem. The framework uses big data analytics to process huge amounts of IoT traffic data in real time, recognizing patterns, detect possible threats and creates a miniature model that can be deployed on IOT device. On-device modeling helps to ensure that threats can be handled right there on-device, limiting cloud-based infra and latency dependencies. The framework also focus on using an AHD Model (Anomaly Hash-out Delta) using device behavior profile for permissible actions, which helps anomaly handling in a very lightweight machine learning model
